A former general and friend of Saddam Hussein who defected but maintains close contact with Iraq claims the regime supported al-Qaida with intelligence, finances and munitions and believes weapons of mass destruction are hidden in Syria.
Ali Ibrahim al-Tikriti, southern regional commander for Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen militia in the late 1980s, spoke with Ryan Mauro of WorldThreats.com.
Known as the "Butcher of Basra," al-Tikriti commanded units that dealt with chemical and biological weapons. He defected shortly before the Gulf War in 1991.
Last month, Saddam Hussein's No. 2 Air Force officer, Georges Sada, told the New York Sun Iraq's weapons of mass destruction were moved to Syria six weeks before the war started. Sada claimed two Iraqi Airways Boeing jets converted to cargo planes moved the weapons in a total of 56 flights. They attracted little attention, he said, because they were thought to be civilian flights providing relief from Iraq to Syria, which had suffered a flood after a dam collapse in 2002.

This article is from 2006??
Another LibTARD lie debunked.
It was linked as if new on Orbusmax, and the headline banner read 6/7/2010. But yes, I now see its old hat. Wonder why Orbusmax resurrected it?
Captain Obvious must be in full retirement...
Egyptian Islamic Jihad was on Saddam’s payroll. Which means that Saddam agents recruited Osama, and formed his inner circle right from day one.
Hiding in plain sight.
This may be true, but WND doesn’t lend it much credibility.
“...Georges Sada, told the New York Sun Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction were moved to Syria six weeks before the war started.”
.
I guess that Syria is #1 on Israel’s target list.
Bush will be vindicated.
We knew this before the war even commenced.

Yup — agreed
Bush knew all along, yet said and did nothing.
These weapons will end up killing Americans eventually.
If Syria indeed has the weapons I wonder if they will be used against Israel? Then again the raid Israel did in Syria a few years ago may have been in regard to eliminating those weapons. There was very little mentioned on the story from either side. There is a lot we do not know.
We certainly did.
Many of us have believed this from the beginning but the MSM and others made us out to be crackpots. I hope they are eventually found in Syria.
Debka also ran the story ..
I have never doubted for an instant that Saddam had WMDs.
“This article is from 2006??”
Yea, he wrote a book that didn’t get much publicity in the libtard press, I read it and still have my copy.
He was self-agrandizing throughout the book and actually served with both Russians and American Air Force units, typical of the changing Iraqii loyalties.
He’s still alive, amazing for a Christian ex-general of Saddam’s for both reasons.
All captured Kuwaitis were executed before Saddam “surrendered” except the one air force soldier under the control of Georges.
He’s not a saint but he’s the guy who was smart enough to keep the Iraqii Air Force from being shot to pieces. I was waiting to see the Mirage’s splashed on the desert floor, he wisely chose not to fight much.
Probably banished from Iraq with all the other Christians now. At least Saddam didn’t punish Christians like he did some of the other Iraqiis.
(I understand he's back on the air but it's just not the same.)
“Last month, Saddam Hussein’s No. 2 Air Force officer, Georges Sada, told the New York Sun”
Knowledge is power.
Knowledge 1 - Yes, the statements by former Saddam officials have been accurately reported
Knowledge 2 - even if the dates of those revelations had been “fixed” in this story, the fact is the New York Sun has been out of business for a few years, which automatically dates the entire story to some time in the past.
As important as it is to remind the public of the claims of former officials of Saddam’s regime, about his WMDs, it is contrary to that purpose to foist them off as if they are current news. In fact, doing so will detract from their original and lasting importance, in the minds of the otherwise ignorant sheeple.
