CLEBURNE, Texas - Officials say three people were killed and at least 10 people were missing and about a half-dozen more were injured when a gas line exploded Monday after it was struck by workers.

Cleburne city manager Chester Nolen said three people are dead and at least 10 people were missing, Dallas-Fort Worth television station WFAA reported.

Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Jack Snow told The Associated Press about six people were transported to hospitals. He said officials believe a gas line was struck with a digging machine.

Laura Harlin, a resident of nearby Granbury, said the explosion made a "huge rumbling" and sounded like a tornado even from 8 miles away.

Cleburne is about 50 miles southwest of Dallas.

Television images showed a large fireball and a burned out vehicle and construction equipment.

Glen Rose Medical Center confirmed to NBC News that five people arrived at their emergency room suffering injuries from a gas explosion in Johnson County, Texas. A hospital spokesman said those injured were in stable condition

Enterprise Products Partners said it owned the 36-inch pipeline, which is part of its Texas Intrastate system. The explosion was 15 miles south of Godley, Texas.

WFAA-TV, a Dallas television station, quoted Chester Nolen, city manager of Cleburne, Texas, as saying 10 people were missing following the explosion. Cleburne is the largest city near the explosion.

The blast was originally thought to be an oil well explosion.

An electrical crew was digging a hole when it struck the gas pipeline, an emergency services spokesman in Hood County, Texas, said.

The first indication Enterprise had of a problem on the pipeline was a sudden drop in pressure seen at the company's operations center, said spokesman Rick Rainey.

"We have isolated that segment of line," Rainey said. "Our crews have been dispatched to the scene. Basically that line is equipped with line breaks that allows us to shut in that segment in case of a sudden drop in pressure."

Yep a utility crew didn’t do a proper locate and bored into a 36” gas pipeline. Bet it wasn’t done on purpose but someone screwed up at some point in the process.

Very interesting, we've had a coal mine cave in, an oil rig explosion, and now a natural gas pipeline explosion...

I know that there can be coincidences but wow, I think we are pushing the envelope here on believability.

You’re leaving out the natural gas well explosion in Pennsylvania last Friday ...
http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/news/local_news/Natural_Gas_Well_Leak_Pennsylvania_Clearfield_County_060410

and the natural gas explosion in Ct. that killed five people back in Feb.:http://www.heatingoil.com/blog/123290208/

the Tesoro refinery in Washington State that killed four in April: http://articles.latimes.com/2010/apr/03/nation/la-na-refinery-fire3-2010apr03 ...

I’m sure there would be more if you googled for them.

“Something” is going on - what is it? Is it just the cost of doing business?

Tom and I were watching Fox on Helen Thomas, and he mentioned to me how Michael Medved (a Jew) had "the witch is dead" music in the background on his radio show earlier today, we then discussed briefly the Rush Limbaugh/Elton John story, and at that point in time we saw the message scrolling about this blast. I said, "what's that?" ... is that an old story being replayed? Nope! Unbelievable ... [where's my rosary?]

Terrorists? Make that environmentalists.

The left’s motto is: “Take advantage of every disaster.”

An associated leftist question is: “How do you start a disaster?”

Stay tuned.

A major building site reconstruction could easily accidentally sever a major utility conduit (gas, electric, water, sewer, etc.) The JULIE marks can be easily obliterated by activity on the surface of the ground.

This is going to be a power line installation. Not sure if it was a new line or a rebuild. It may have been contractors as opposed to utility personnel.

UPDATE 2-Texas pipeline blast kills 3 -official

A Texas state trooper said eight workers from Brazos Electric, a generation and transmission cooperative, were digging a hole near the pipe when the blast occurred.

"They were drilling holes to put up power lines when they struck the gas line," said State Trooper Dub Gillum with the Texas Department of Public Safety. "Most of them got out and got away."

There was another one today in West Virginia. A crew drilling a natural gas well hit an old, abandoned coal mine that was full of methane gas. The blast sent six or seven to the hospital.

IMHO, all that's needed for the Reichstag Fire Cap&Tax Trifecta plus one, is an explosion or fire in one of these (filled to the brim with corn of course):

that the crew digs up these lines by HAND...
