HARTFORD, Conn.

Connecticut elections officials are investigating whether Weston businessman Peter Schiff violated state laws by using out-of-state workers to collect signatures to petition his way onto the Republican primary ballot for U.S. Senate.

In a complain obtained Monday by The Associated Press, James Bancroft, who said he was a founding member of the Hartford tea party group, claimed he was approached by a Schiff supporter outside a store in Newington last week and asked to sign a petition. Bancroft said he struck up a conversation with the worker, who said he was from Montana. Bancroft filed the complaint with the State Elections Enforcement Commission on Friday.

Moving to a place such as NH is something I have considered

There are a lot of good videos on youtube about it. Mostly what I'm seeing are Paul supporters, but they are finding JOBS! Put moving to New Hampshire in the search window.

If I were younger, I'd think about it, too, but think long and hard. Most seem to be settling in the southern part. Was just telling my daughter today that I'd like to see where my ancestors came from in Coos County, also many from other parts further south like Charlestown. Problem is from what I've read and seen about the northern part is the winters are harsh, growing season is short, and it is hard to heat the homes because I think a lot use heating oil?, kerosene, wood or pellets.

My daughter wondered why some of ours went so far north. I can't answer that, had to clear the land and didn't seem to have much which is why some left for Illinois when that opened up.

Beautiful scenery there, but a lot of the houses that would be affordable even to rent look old and not not attractive old like some here, not kept up as well, probably exceptions. It would be more for young, healthy people.

Those Paul supporters have a lot of energy and youngish, don't think I'd fit in with them but not against all they stand for.

Yet we have Ron Paul, the daddy of all the Paulbots, using government to force his perverted moral of homosexuality being equal to heterosexuality on the men and woman of the Armed Forces.

That is not standing for liberty but is forceing a perverted morality on these people. No one should be forced to have to bunk or shower with people who openly express a perversion for the same gender. Yet Paul and other so-called libertarians support using government to force this upon society.

bad show nothing!

Schiff was a bad choice from the very start!

There was ZERO about him on any issue that was conservative

he has more in common with Barney Frank than ANY moderate Republican, let alone Ronald Reagan

And sadly, up till last Feb, I was one of the Tea Party people who wanted him to win because I swallowed the koolaid about his so-called economic knowlege...until I saw the truth!

SCHIFF invests in America’s economic competitors ONLY
NOT A DIME in the USA
how is that smart??

ECON 101
When you invest in the firm that is the economic competitor to your own family, and your family does poorly, and their competitor does well, and you KEEP investing in your family’s competitor, YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR FAMILY OUT OF WORK!

Schiff doesn’t invest a SINGLE PENNY in AMERICA!!!

pro-immigration and said that there are too many jobs in the US we NEED to let in immigrants???

Peter Schiff admits on camera that he has ZERO money investigated in American corporations or industry. If Peter Schiff refuses to invest in American companies, how can Peter Schiff say he is helping Americans keep their jobs?

http://ameriborn.com/shifty/

This is SCHIFF in his own words!

PETER SCHIFF IS ACTIVELY INVESTING IN FOREIGN COMPETITOR NATIONS THAT ARE PUTTING AMERICANS OUT OF WORK!!!

So what’s the answer? vote for another idiot like Schiff just because he is a new face??

Or do we admit we made a mistake and NOT suppported Vinny Forras like we should have??

I a FRee society culture is shared and is reflected in politics of that society. In ours it was liberty and self reliance.

Our inheritance from the greatest generation is dependence and lack of choice and the left has educated us that these are the choices, it is not an individual thing, anarchy is an individual thing, culture is an agreement among those that belong to a society that we agree on certain things and this is our culture. Kind of convoluted but true.

The pro-abortion issue would be of concern to me, so I took your invitation and googled it. Here is what I found, in his own words:

“I am the most state’s rights advocate of all the candidates (though Vinnie may be with me on these issues as well, he lacks the funds or campaign infrastructure to mount a credible race). I oppose any federal restrictions on abortion, oppose any federal funding of abortion, and believe Roe VS. Wade to have been wrongly decided and
would vote to nominate Federal Judges who want to overturn it. While I am personally opposed to partial birth abortions, this too is a state’s rights issue. I do not believe the Federal government has the constitutional authority to ban it, but I would like individual states
to ban it, and feel that neither the Federal Government nor federal courts have the right to interfere.”

That’s a long way from being pro-abortion. Actually what he is suggesting is a strategy that many in the pro-life circles agree with: get rid of Roe v Wade and let the states decide. AKA divide and conquer.

It would appear that you’re taking liberties with the candidate on his actual position on this issue.

As for the residency of the petition gatherers, the allegation here is petty. Election laws are often structured to trap the unwary.

Read post #69

I noticed that early on, but will answer about some other issues if pressed. Really, if he just sticks with the economy, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. I'm not real confident anybody can fix much of anything at this point, but I'd like to see what somebody like him could do if he did nothing else. Maybe that would be a good thing although, in the Senate, he'd have to take a stand on other matters, so that could become an issue.

He didn't to seem to have much of a chance as it was but was gathering some steam and support.

That’s a long way from being pro-abortion.

I listened to Schiff on a local radio talk show approximately two weeks ago take phone calls for one hour from listeners. He stated to one caller he supports abortion in the first trimester.

Yet all laws are an expression of morality.

The problem with libertarians and left-wingers is that they fail to see that and only complain about legislating morality when they oppose something.

There is nothing special about libertarians or left-wingers when it comes to pushing their own legislated culture. They do it all of the time.

how about the video of him saying he defends a woman's right to choose??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDttx64zk4I

with respect to his personal feelings, he would not make it illegal, women have a right to abort, he is against 3rd trimester,

BUT FIRST TRIMESTR OR SECOND ONE ITS OKAY

Hear it in his own words

So advocating that the murder of innocent life is acceptable if his preferred process is followed is a stand for ‘liberty’???

I know you don't like Schiff, I also know you would never make up a story and like all conservatives want the letter of the law upheld.

That said, I still think Schiff is the best of the bunch considering the economic mess this country is in.

Really, if he just sticks with the economy, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

The primary responsibility of the federal government is national security. It's an issue Schiff is silent on unless pressed.

I'm not real confident anybody can fix much of anything at this point, but I'd like to see what somebody like him could do if he did nothing else.

Nothing else matters, including the Constitution, if that is the case. Why bother posting at FR if it is all just an exercise in futility? Millions of people in the tea party movement disagree with you.

Is that so. Many of the Code Pink Paulbots seem to want to make most of America their enemy including our Armed Forces. No wonder you all want to push for fags serving openly in the military, you all hate our Republic.

Why? we all knew that the RINOS in CT were against Vinny, we knew they were against Simmons and Schiff, too

McMahon was their choice last year when Chris Healy, the CT GOP CHAIRMAN had his wife HIRED by McMahon’s campaign for about $20K a month!

Any honest look at Schiff when compared against Simmons, Simmons was a lion on defense, but he was a liberal on all social issues, he has an IDENTICAL STANCE as Schiff on ALL moral issues

MORAL issues are what defines a RINO, and every thinking American knows that

However, the libertarians were never keen on morals, anyways, so it is no doubt Schiff was their guy.

What does that matter when he supports murdering future generations of Americans?

Good job keeping a RINO off the ballot.
