HARTFORD, Conn.

Connecticut elections officials are investigating whether Weston businessman Peter Schiff violated state laws by using out-of-state workers to collect signatures to petition his way onto the Republican primary ballot for U.S. Senate.

In a complain obtained Monday by The Associated Press, James Bancroft, who said he was a founding member of the Hartford tea party group, claimed he was approached by a Schiff supporter outside a store in Newington last week and asked to sign a petition. Bancroft said he struck up a conversation with the worker, who said he was from Montana. Bancroft filed the complaint with the State Elections Enforcement Commission on Friday.

The current economic crisis is going to kill both parties. As a life-long Republican who has watched the GOP change into Democrat-lite, I say good riddance.

You’re not obviously of the same mind. A little poison is good for you?

Nobody drives from Montana for $2 a signature. Are you crazy? Maybe they did tell you that. Maybe Linda planted them. Maybe Linda was paying them more.

Sorry man. He is Libertarian leaning. So WHAT?

I wrote to Linda with specific questions months ago. She can’t answer those questions. I want someone who believes in the Constitution, not some person who buys their way in only to be another nail in this Country’s coffin.

Wow, you dont read very much, do you?

Guess what?

They didnt drive. they are paid employees, employed by the group that was there to get the signatures. That is their job. That is where they're sent.

I remember the woman saying National Ballot Association, but I did not find that group on the web, I found National Ballot ACCESS

that must be the group she said she was from, for they do balloting and signatures for elections like what is going on here, so either she told me the wrong name or I remembered it wrong, and she most likely told me the wrong name since you dont do this full time all year round.

As for the current economic crisis, why in the world are you endorsing someone who is taking money to invest in foreignnations???

Are we losing our jobs to other Americans or are we losing them to the Chinese??

SO WHY ARE YOU ENDORSING THE GUY WHO INCVESTS HIS MONEY WITH CHINA AND TRYING TO SAY THAT IS THE SMART THING???

the best candidate, Vinny Forras, was beat by 10 votes in the convention in the first round. Vinny sent his delagates to Simmons to keep McMahon out.

Schiff is an uber lib, check the other links throughout this thread, I proved that over in spades

I too think he is dead on about the economy.

And his message on the economy isn't what many Americans want to hear.

It seems that you and I aren't the only ones who agree with him on the economy.

And, no, I do not nor have never supported breaking any laws. The problem is many of us may be breaking laws without even knowing it because there are just too many now.

I broke a law, sold a difficult item on ebay just to get it out of here, took a substantial loss on it, but it wasn't a capital asset. I completely forgot that since the buyer was in my state I should have collected state sales tax on it. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, but there it is. I'm sure not going to beat myself up over it now.

Same with garage and yard sales. Doubt few comply. I've never had one.

Haven't heard a statement from his compaign today, but it's out there now. It may yet work to his advantage by giving him more exposure even if he has to throw some signatures off the petition.

Obsession with homosexuals?

You raise a strawman argument. The issue is not about those who have an inclination to same-sex attraction. However unfortunate for them, it is a personal struggle, through which they must affect a strong combat for reasons of physiological, psychological and sociological necessity.

The issue is the propagation of an intrinsically destructive doctrine that opposes life and the common good.

Even if we put aside the moral imperative—which act would constitute the greatest of errors, since the moral code is a product of sound reason and marks the boundaries of that singularly most quoted imperative “love thy neighbor”—it will still be proven that anything directed against its own natural purpose is contrary to right reason.

The two sexes are specifically designed so their physiological, biological and psychological aspects are mutually beneficial. Male and female compliment one another, in all regards, to the natural end that their anatomy was specifically designed to affect: procreation of the species. This natural end logically supposes an intended purpose consistent with intelligent design.

Homosexual behavior is absolute in its destruction of that purpose. Understanding that “a house divided against itself cannot stand,” it is reasonable to state that Nature does not work against itself. By logical extension, and since all things must have a first cause, then neither would an intelligent supreme being create an natural order having as a component of its initial design a species directed to its own demise.

Reason and logic dictate that whenever any object is directed against its own natural purpose, then that object is intrinsically disordered. Since the design of male and female reproductive anatomy gives irrefutable evidence to its intended purpose, it is an attack on reason to presume that biology would be so rebellious of its own preservation as to willingly submit to an ends contrary to that which affords its greatest chance of success.

Homosexual behavior acts in direct opposition to the propagation of life, both directly in its physical acts, and psychologically by subverting the natural order of creation. It is anti-life, and being unable to sustain itself through procreation, it may increase its numbers only by seduction.

The argument that same-sex attraction is a product of genetic accident is easily refuted; for if such a gene were existent for any period of time, it would soon by its own actions render itself extinct, as do most unnatural mutations.

Thus it is clear that the homosexual inclination is a product of external environmental stimulus and internal psychological impediments (intrinsically disordered desire). This distinction is important for reason that the state-enforced tolerance of intrinsically disordered behaviors (perversions) aligns perfectly with the anti-life philosophy that has imposed a literal death grip upon our culture. The rationale supporting this statement is the summation of those disorders, while still generally opposed, continue to advance, continue to realize great reinforcement through subversive indoctrination of the young, and thus continue to undermine true liberty with an emboldened narcissistic flattery that pretends itself tolerance.

Thus the libertarian argument of “non-interference” where willing parties engage in private acts not harmful to a non-interested party is a patently absurd and false doctrine. Such philosophy entails the shackling of human society in a suicide pact that is contrary to the development of a resilient culture, is destructive of a sustainable and prosperous economy, and exists in direct opposition to right reason and the moral imperatives derived through the Natural Law.

Schiff has zero shot

Forras had almost the same vote count a the convention on the first pass, and Vinny never had the press and Tea Party building him up

People hate Schiff’s arrogance and smart mouth attitude when they hear him speak live

you’re as bad as some paulbots who refuse to side with conservatives because they’re libertarian purist. They rather see 20% enemey/liberal/democrats win the election than to allow an 80% friend win

Peter Schiff is the best candidate for free market supporters. His social issues is not going to matter one bit as he’s not going to support federal funding on any social policies that Liberal support
