Marijuana is causing America to be more and more dysfunctional. Its time we recognize that we have a problem.
Educational info on marijuana
I dont think so. Now Voting Democrat and Smoking Pot have dumbed down Millions of Americans!
Riiight...an evil plant (that you can’t have!) is the cause...
Some people on FR want it to be practically mandatory. I’d hate to be going to school today, where some places, you’re ostracized or physically abused for not trying it.
My kid tells me that among his crowd tokers are thought of
as slackers and weenies.
Real men drink microbrew, and tequila.

No more than the same kind of people "forced" you or I to get drunk or smoke cigarettes in school.
If a person becomes a smoker, a drunk or an addict because of the friends they choose...they are
a) being irresponsible blaming others and also
b) lack character because they hang out with the wrong people.
My experience has been your average pot smoker is MUCH more peaceable with someone with them refraining from it, than your average drinker, or smoker....

Please don’t use the relatively respectable term ‘smoker’ for potheads. This stuff is true, and it’s a laarrrgge part of why europe and now the west coast is falling apart. And yes, it makes people lazy idiots who may be harmless but also useless.
Marijuana smokers aren’t very peaceful when they are detoxing. They’re often very agitated.
Scraping pipes and retrieving stray buds from behind the dresser. Oh the humanity! Will the depravity ever end?
The same NIDA Monitoring the Future survey of 129 college students found that someone who smokes pot once daily may be functioning at a reduced intellectual level all of the time.
So if you are high every day, you aren't operating at peak efficiency? Who would have thought?
What a drama queen.
And people should absolutely NOT have the right to be lazy idiots. We need them up and moving about in accordance with our plans for them.
It has wasted untold billions and engendered a loss of respect for the law.
It is people are who not treated as adults by the nanny state that is much more of a problem than any possible effects of cannibals.
By the way there are a lot of very stupid people in the country who don't drink, smoke or have any vices..if there was only a way to fix stupid..
i used to smoke it so i speak from experience (how many others who posted here can say that?)
It is LESS harmful than alchohol in moderation.
Too much (as in anything else) is very bad for you. Paranoid cloudy thinking and lack of motivation are the major symptoms of too much.
Too much alcohol can kill your liver and cause more permanent damage, though.
If only one could be made legal, I would choose pot without a doubt.
I would not smoke it- except occasionally, about as much as I enjoy alcohol- a couple of times a year, maybe, one or two drinks max- I have not been drunk or had a hangover in 20 years. (I also usd to do too much alcohol so i know about both of them)
Alcohol makes you dopey too - lets ban that stuff!
Marijuana certainly has it's dangers, and isn't an optimum lifestyle for anybody. Everyone should avoid it. But as somebody who "detoxed" many back in the day, I have to say that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.
In addition to marijuana, America needs to criminalize tobacco, fast cars, loose women, strong liquor, and chin beards.
As long as they receive no benefits and are truly an ‘island’ on their own, fine by me.
Frankly, a pothead without their weed is about as psychologically bad of shape as any drug addict out there. Nasty business.
Just wait until 3-D porn gets everyone addicted, then there will be more in depth immersion channeling.
There have been several sci-fi films of people using either androids or “hosts” to occupy while their real bodies are cocooned at home.
America is “Escaping from Reality”. Why?
Because it sucks with inept leadership getting stronger every day with no hope of it being stopped.
America needs desperately a Revolution, we need heroes, patriotic heroes willing to risk all to take back our country.
Name two...
So you can gang up on them too? No thanks.
the plant isn’t evil, as it’s effects are obvious and widely known.
lulling people into a sense that its ok to use and won’t impair your judgment, drive or motivation... that myth, perpetuated by the left, is the evil part with the goal to undermine the moral foundation of the country and break it from its conservative roots.
i expect to get bashed by the pro-pot crowd now... go for it... you are wrong, but are too stoned to realize it. no amount of logic or historical evidence will pull your lips from the bong. you’re a wasted generation and hopefully you won’t pass the attitude to your children... which is unlikely, given that you feel self righteous enough to bash me on a public forum. as such, your self-righteous pro-pot/pro-drugs attitude would have been on display for your children to see their entire lives.
congratulations... you have fallen for the progressive trap and introduced limitations into your life.
She's now running an alternative sentencing program for drug offenders, and sees proof of her theory every day.
Smoking marijuana= the dumbing down of America
Actually, attending Public School has had a much greater dumbing down affect. We should outlaw Public Schools first.
When the non-pot smokers on this forum start giving me even a little trouble debating them I’ll consider switching back to booze. lol
The limitations imposed by prohibition are worse.
Fixed for you. This thread is a testament to it.
Excellent archive. Well done!
He was confused. lol
Exactly.
Most of the “horrors” of marijuana are from the abuse of the drug. Not the occasional user.
If an adult wants to smoke, drink, eat whatever......fine by me.
If they commit a crime that harms another person or another person’s property, then charge them with that crime.
If that person is slacking off at work because of intoxication.....fire them.
Their bodies, their lives. In my opinion, this is about freedom.
Look what it has done for Jamaica . Good music but that’s about it .
Say what you will, and I'll just add this. Since job entry drug testing in the oilfield, it has become a much safer place to work.
As with all drugs, and I include alcohol, their bodies (and minds) may not exactly be up to snuff when doing things which affect others.
If it is a place of business and the business wants to drug test for reasons of safety or some other issue, by all means test away.
They should not hire who they feel cannot do the job and do it well.
I just don't think it is anybody's business if someone is drinking or smoking whatever.
Everyone has to live with the consequences of their actions, good or bad.
I just hate it when the “I know what is best” crowd tells everyone else how to live.
So what makes YOU capable of “fixing” my post, as if it needed it?
Thanks for posting, bookmarked.
How’s the flamesuit?
"I sit and day dream, I've got day dreams galore.
Cigarette ashes, there they go on the floor.
I go away weekends, leave my keys in the door.
Why try to change me now?" -- Sung by Frank Sinatra
Oh wait! Old Blue Eyes was a boozer, not a pothead.
(I recognize your sarc, shempy)
Mexicans and Muslims doing the jobs potheads won't do?
“America is Escaping from Reality. Why?”...”Because it sucks with inept leadership getting stronger every day...”
****
That is an excellent question, but I would add that the escape mechanism has been in place long before the 2008 elections.
“Just wait until 3-D porn gets everyone addicted”
That reminds me of the film, “Idiocracy”, the likes of which we are approaching every day. Wanna see the future? Watch that movie.
Lemme guess, you’re the re-incarnation of Joe Friday?
If you support the ban of marijuana, because of how people harm themselves with it, would you support the ban of everything else that people can harm themselves with? That's the question.
Second, what about the harm that prohibition itself causes? Is there any kind of cost and benefit analysis? Is there any concern about how the attempted enforcement of a prohibition increases the size, scope and power of government? Is there any thought to the question of whether the government could ever be successful in enforcing the ban? I believe it was William Buckley who said, 'if there is no solution, there is no problem'. Buckley advocated the re-legalization of drugs, including heroin, btw.
Just wondering here, I never see any discussion of this issues by the misguided conservatives, who have adopted the liberal/leftist policy of drug prohibition as there own. Does conservative mean 'adopting liberal policies a generation later, because they've been around that long'?
Any discussion of Marijuana users always brings out the the users, who are happy with their crutch,
Yes alcohol can be a crutch too.
I dont need or use either. Just because something is legal doesnt mean it is mandatory.
You don’t see any discussion about the merry-go-round of “the sky is falling” research papers from people like the RWJF that work closely with the bureaucrats that take those results to Congress to argue for more money and then use some of the money for more research grants.
Out of all of the problems that we face... yep... this is the MOST important. Sheeeeesh.
LLS
No, almost every single one of the "horrors" of MJ are from the drug laws, and are inflicted on the users by cops and the courts.
The worst things about marijuana is that it makes you have sex with older women, play the piano REALLY fast, and murder innocent virgins. At least according to the experts at this link. Personally I wouldn’t know of course.
