I didn't see a live thread started, so I figured I'd go ahead and post one.
A big primary day. I believe it's 12 states including the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Thank you! I’ve been surfing for an hour just trying to find some info and here you are! Thanks!
Big day in CA. Not much choice for Governor but looking good to crush a box-er-two.
Thanks for posting this thread!
Wen’t to vote a little while ago....(South Carolina Primaries). From what I could see there was pretty good turnout...Not Heavy...but this of course is before lunch.....
Arkansas has Sen. Blanche Lincoln facing Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, a strong contender supported by SEIU.
Halter seems to have eeked out a poll lead of about 3%.
California
Nevada
Virginia
South Carolina
Who else?
How is Nikki faring?
Also....maybe you could briefly explain to the SC challenged how Sen’s Graham and DeMint were elected in the same state?
Ping
Ping
Have at it. I can’t find one!! Probably looking in the wrong place.
Arkansas
Wonderful, thanks for the thread.
OK. Found one. Hope it’s all inclusive:
California
Arkansas
Iowa
Maine
Montana
Nevada
New Jersey
South Carolina
South Dakota
North Dakota
Virginia
According to the most recent poll I read was Niki is still ahead with 43% ...Gresham Barrett 23%.......McMaster 16%....Bauer 12%..... The Poll said at least half the people polled didn’t believe the allegations against Haley....I have yet to find anyone that does believe the allegations....
As for how our state can have a wonderfull Sen. like DeMint and Graham....well....
Part is Good old boy politics...then the fact Graham had lots of money to spend....But as to how he could get elected...The Upstate part of SC is heavy Republican...(Greenville/Spartanburg) 4th Congressional District where DeMint served before becoming a Congressman.....
Near the Coast (Charleston) is far more Democrat....
Not to worry..I have faith the Good People of SC will get rid of Graham(Nesty) next time!!
Does anyone have recommendations on the down-ticket races in California. Specifically, I wanted to find out who is considered to be the strongest candidate to beat Maldonado in the Lt. Gov. race.
SC has been a little schizo in the past. Ernest “Fritz” Hollings and Strom Thurmond served simultaneously.
In the Graham, DeMint case, I believe voters THOUGHT that Lindsey Graham was a conservative, but remember his claim to fame was his leading role in Clinton’s impeachment. He was elected off the back of THAT strong impression he left on the people.
DeMint was a House Member and clearly conservative when he was elected. By that time, Lindsey was showing his true colors.
If an election were held today whether to approve their continued service, it would be interesting to see the outcome.
I'm voting for Sam Aanestad. He's currently a state senator and he is very conservative. He held a phone teleconference this past weekend and 10,000 people were on the phone line with him. 10,000 on a phone call is impressive.
Here is his website http://www.voteforsam.com/

Is it possible she will pull out the Sec. of State position?
Hopefully.
She got my vote!
Y’all are welcome.
I voted in the Republican primary in South Carolina 1 hour after the polls opened. I was the 25th voter to request a Republican ballot. The first voter requesting a Democrat ballot had not arrived yet.
thanks
Went to our rural polling place in Maine shortly after the polls opened at 10:00 AM. We and one other person were the only ones there at the moment. Reports so far are of a light turnout.
The Portland paper had some interesting stats the other day on party switching:
1,200 people went from unenrolled to Republican
658 people went from unenrolled to Democrat
956 people went from Democrat to Republican
346 people went from Republican to Democrat
We know a lot of people who went from unenrolled to vote for Paul LePage, the only true conservative in the gubernatorial field. Have to wonder a bit if some of the Dem to Repub conversions are to vote against LePage in favor of one of the RINOs who probably wouldn’t stand a chance in the general.
The other big item on the statewide ballot is the repeal of a new set of taxes that the legislature approved last year. Hopefully that will pass.
There’s always hope the stupid in the electorate have heard her name and simply pull the level for her out of that recognition not realizing what/what she is.
Stranger things have happened!!!
“If an election were held today whether to approve their continued service, it would be interesting to see the outcome.”
Thanks for the post. Given the state of the economy in SC, how do you think things are salting out?
Very quiet at my polling place earlier, I was the only voter in the room amongst 15 or so seniors that were manning the polls. Fairly typical around here for primaries.
LOL!
Too funny.
She’s very “electable” by their definition, isn’t she?
“The other big item on the statewide ballot is the repeal of a new set of taxes that the legislature approved last year. Hopefully that will pass.”
Yeah. The taxes in Maine are absolutely wretched. But for the taxes, it would be a pretty place to retire to.
This reminds me; those of you who are voting today and see a light turnout, get on the phone and call your Republican friends and remind them to vote.
That's within the 4% margin of error. At this point I think the least worse scenario is for her to eke out a win today and then hopefully be totally humiliated in November by Boozman. Halter is much more leftist and dangerous IMO, should he win today.
I mainly voted to get rid of Prop 14, what a BS law that would be.
Bookmark.
Go Miller-Meeks IA-02!!!
Taitz winning would be so worth it just to watch the left explode and that we know she would demand those on the ballot prove their eligibility.
Now, I didn’t say she would not make numerous punctuation errors while doing it, but still....:-p
Orly winning would be entertaining if nothing else LOL
thanks , hope some more are shown the door today
From your lips to God’s ears.
Sam Aanestad is who you’re looking to vote for against that slippery slimeball Aldonado.
In the other CA races, Orly Taitz for Secretary of State, John Eastman for Atty Gen, Brian Fitzgerald for Insurance commissioner. Barbara Alby for 2nd Dist BoE. Superior Court Office 1, take Litchfield for a real Constitutionalist, and Diane Lenning for Sup of Public Instruction.
Yup, time to drop kick abel back to the private sector.. but watch.. he’ll get a high position in the MegWhitman gubamint.
I like your picks.
The polling place was dead quiet, and the workers were so young, one was cute as a bug too.. a pleasant experience oveall.. now the weather the results..
now to
(Drink)
The CRA suggested Sam Aanestad, but I have no personal knowledge. The California Republican Assembly seems to be fairly good.
I’m not trying to give you a hard time over Taitz. I like what she’s been trying to do with regard to Obama documents, but the way she’s going about it has made me think of her as a flake.
The CRA suggested Dunn, and I think that’s what my choice will have to be.
Just wanted to mention it, as an alternative.
Aanestad seems like a good guy. Too bad he’d have to play understudy to Brown or Whitman if he won.
Well, perhaps it would move him into their replacement slot. That would be a positive.
It seems I recall a Lt. Governor pulling a couple of fast ones when the Governor was out of state in the not too recent past also.
That would be nice once in a while.
