FLASH: Moscow says UN sanctions resolution against Iran has been agreed upon -source close to Security Council talks
Double secret probation?
What Russia says and what Russia does mean 2 different things.
Completely agreed could me that we completely agree to disagree; therefore we agree that no action will be taken.
A Resolution with REALLY mean words!
The UN -
Global waste of oxygen.
Using bold and sometimes even, all caps!
Has it been run by the Chicoms yet?
The Russians seem to think so
I think what is more important than another set of watered down meaningless UN sanctions is the Iranian reaction to them. I would look for some type of military/economic/diplomatic provcation from Iran in the near future.
Prohibition brought us into the era of organized crime, China and Russia will be falling over themselves raising their prices by 50% on sanctioned goods and smuggling them there, times never change. Unless we blockade them and search every ship coming and going, which isn’t going to happen, then this whole charade is pointless.
Cutting every gasoline pipeline and source might have an effect on stirring up the people, but no one has the testicular fortitude to stand up to Russia and China.
I agree completely, which is why this won’t work. For the life of me I can’t figure out why China is willing to let Iran continue on like this, it’s not like whoever replaces them won’t sell every drop of oil or puff of gas to China the instant the shooting stops, and a stable Middle East is in everyone’s best interest. China is having some problems with Islam now also, I can’t believe they want a nuclear armed whackjob that hates them just a tiny bit less than they do us.
No more soda until they drink all their milk.
I hate sanctions. Look at how well they’ve worked. The people of those countries are hurt, not the dictators.
Effective immediately all exports of bibles and pork to Iran are prohibited!!!
Yeh -- right -- they have all agreed not to do anything.
no imports of Skittles, Pepsi Throwback, ShamWOW or back issues of the National Enquirer....
That’s always worked so well in the past...for Iran.
Axis of worldwide gathering evil: Iran, Russia, China
“The main result of the “sanctions” will be to provide Nutjob with another pretext to attract some attention. Will he go too far this time? Galilee? Gaza?”
My guess is Galilee. However, we can’t rule out him pulling some stupid move in the Persian Gulf - like when he had those Brit sailors detained for a couple weeks a few years back.
China is having some problems with Islam now also, I cant believe they want a nuclear armed whackjob that hates them just a tiny bit less than they do us.
The PC West cannot deal with Islam. China, with no rules, plenty of resources and, thanks to the one child policy, a surplus male population almost as large as the entire US population is quite willing to trade blows with Islam. They will Drive the Islamics west to bring down Europe and the US in the same way that the rise of Mongol China drove the Huns, Vandals and Visigoths west to destroy Rome.
Good points. China is definitely the chess master on the world strategic stage. Don’t forget to add their playing us on N.Korea to wield influence against us on Taiwan, and ultimately S.Korea, Japan and the Philippines. That gives them total control of Greater Asia and will be able to effectively combat the rise of radical Islam in Indonesia.
With about 30 pages of exceptions I am sure.
Okay Iran, you really did it this time.
From now own, you only get full privileges for 29 out of 30 days each month. We’ll see how you like that!!!!!
Flogging with a wet noodle comes to mind...
Sanctions don’t work on Iran. They won’t do without. We need to nuke the hell out of them and NOW. Sanctions against N. Korea ended up with them obtaining nukes. Time to do a Harry Truman and stop being so weak
BFD. More nothing from nothing means nothing.
Trouble is ‘Reuters’ likes to be first but they often get things wrong for that or at least twisted....will see how the others report...even then what’s reported isn’t always the way things will go on the world stage.
Fanatics don’t give a damn about sanctions. If you tell me all of their weqpons trade is now cut off, there’s an oil boycott, and a naval blockade, then I’ll pay attention to sanctions.
UN sanctions = BFD
Iranian reactions to international pressure on their nuke program = real world consequences.
Many analysts speculate Iran really pushed Hezbollah hard back in 2006 to increase tension on the northern Israeli border to deflect attention from international efforts to curb their nuke program . . . and we ended up with a war.
Oh No! Not the comfy chair!
Isn’t this like Hitler claiming he’s agreed upon sanctions against Italy during WW2?
I mean WTF?. Talk about Kabuki theather. Russia is the country WHO IS BUILDING IRANS NUCLEAR PROGRAM!
World War IV clouds on the horizon
This time I hope we act like Crusaders.
I know I’LL sleep better tonight knowing that...

The only thing that will stop their nuclear program, are Israeli bombs.
I am very skeptical of sources saying Russia now wants to sanction Iran, to say the least. While ordinary Russian people are largely honorable people and genuien Christians with loyalty to God and country, as opposed to the rest of Europe, their government really does seem at times to be Soviet in all but name. And now it seems they are shifting loyalties at the drop of a hat. This is the kind of thing that makes you wish they’d go back to the Czarist days of Peter the Great. At least then we would know for sure where they stand at all times with regard to the militant Islamic world.
