It states that students from 7th to 9th grade should be taught "about the effectiveness and safety of all FDA-approved contraceptive methods in preventing pregnancy."

Will they also be taught about the ineffectiveness of things like condoms to prevent STDs like crabs, genital warts, etc?

School boards were required to hold public hearings before schools could offer “comprehensive” sexual education. The ACLU of North Carolina hailed the law because it eliminated this requirement. Such hearings, the ACLU stated, would now be "a thing of the past."

Yes, do away with community oversight and hand over your children to liberal indoctrination from the state.

"I am 38 year sold, and I do not know what an abortifacient is."

I bet you can read and write at a 6th grade level. That is more than most of the 7th-9th graders in public schools can do these days.

Count your blessings, which is also more than the average public school child can do as well!

Nevertheless, the Healthy Youth Act also states that abstinence from sexual activity is to be taught as "the expected standard for all school-age children." ...The ACLU and the homosexualist Equality NC decried such aspects of the bill. Equality NC stated that it was "disappointed [that] the final bill left in inaccurate and discriminatory language from the existing curriculum."

They are anti-abstinence. Not because it doesn't work, but because they oppose it in principle. They believe that everyone should be (sex positive) sexually active at every age enjoying the pleasures of sex with no moral judgements of any kind.

When you ask people to consider abstaining from action on the basis of age, sex, marital status (your own or your partner's), family relation to the love interest, or number or species of partners, well that's just "wrong" in their worldview.

NOPE, they will just be taught about preventing the most horrible of all STDs, to a liberal that is pregnancy.

The 6th and 7th graders will be instructed on what an abortifacient is but not what our founding fathers wrote in our Constitution.

They will be instructed on how man is killing the planet but not informed on when life begins.

In the times like this I wish there was somethign like Norplant that could be given to the teenagers before puberty that would kill any sexual desire in them until after they get out of high school.

Of course the real solution is good and consistent parenting.

I used to chat with a teacher who handled sixth and seventh grade kids in southern Alabama. Over a two-year period, she had five girls who came up pregnant. I admit its really crazy to make this a school topic....but this is affecting classroom life, and bringing a significant negativity on teachers when they observe this happening. We aren’t talking about Chicago....but rural areas in the south. Something has gone wrong...and parents are acting like they are still in the 1970s.

Well, I have always loved reading. English was a struggle for me though. I was not ever able to achieve an A until my very last course which was Ancient English Literature/ Essay.

I cannot believe that they are teaching these children about things like this now. I mean, my God, what the heck is wrong with people >_<;

These liberal groups don't want access to the curriculum to prevent teen pregnancy. They offer daytrips to abortionists to settle that without parental notification.

The purpose is to forever settle the argument of IF teens should be having sex and changing that to WHEN...

positive.org and others run a “just say yes” campaign.

Our college medical schools and some public hospitals likewise fund these efforts at indoctrination.

I understand making them “aware” of options, that is not the goal. Our safe schools czar had a scandal with a school program to teach kids about safe fisting and to introduce a text with “first experiences” stories from homosexuals who described how often their first experience was with an older member of the same sex.

When you know their end game, it's easy to see that they are not after solving teen pregnancy.

I say that teen abortions need to be tallied AS teen pregnancies (that did not go to full term). To classify them as anything else is to pretend that they never really happened.

What is next? Give them instructions on how to acquire firearms and hold up a bank for re-distribution of wealth?

When you aren’t in a relationship with complimentary equipment for fornication, your sexual habits have to addressed as well.

They can’t teach the kids how to safely handle a firearm. They might “get ideas” and go out and behave violently.

Undermine the role of the parents in the lives of their kids. Their parents may take them to church and try to impose their morality on them, but their peers and their educators will just tell them that the parents are "wrong" (just as they are "wrong on global warming").

Secular Humanism is a religious worldview too. Worship of the self.
