Back after 8 PM to see what rises to the top..
Norm,
Thanks for the direct link!
Lotsa DeVore signs in Orange County for this faorite son.
The signs are very difficult to read, due to insufficient color contrast.
Very many local pols endorsing him; Rohrabacher, Moorlach, etc.
Ok, bookmarking for later reference.
I am not as excited about this election as about a few others, but, I do hope we plodded in the generally right direction.
At around 2:47 this afternoon the DeVore campaign announced the results of the Wall Street Journal California U.S. Senate “exit” poll of Newport Beach voters in the race for the Republican Nomination for United States Senate: DeVore 75%, Fiorina 25%, Campbell 0%. Newport beach is a relatively liberal coastal community in Orange County California.
Nothing yet.

Thx! .. Campbell, what a waste or was he just a plant..
Abel Maldonado is up large early in LA too. That is shocking to me. That freaking weasel. And that Mickey Kaus guy is in THIRD on the Dem side, even after all that press.
I must have said 2 dozen times I would vote for DeVore and Poizner in the primary and then when they get their butts kicked in by the CA Republican voters, I’ll vote for RINOs Fiorina and Whitman because I can’t stomach the communist duo of Boxer and Jerry “Insane” Brown.
I can’t believe that a single person here was dumb enough to think DeVore or Poizner ever had a chance against the money Fiorina and Whitman were spending.
YES! we want the conservative candidates. When rich conservatives figure this out and put their money where there mouth is and run for office, then we’ll have a chance to elect them. While it is RINOs putting up big money to run, they are going to dominate the primaries.
No, I don’t want RINOs. Yes, I have to vote for Fiorina and Whitman to insure against Boxer and Brown.
I am absolutely terrified of Jerry Brown as governor. Terrified.
This is california, after all,, nothing should surprise us. ;-]
Something is terribly wrong with a system when how much money you have to spend determines what office you should get elected to.. but what do I know, I’m just another big dummy, a poor big dummy. alas, there are many like us. such is the system
Riverside County—0% returns counted.
That should be the case until 2 weeks from Thursday if our registrar of voters runs true to form.
The State of California continues to be DOOMED, made possible by the insanity of liberal voters. Flat insanity.
Governor
Jerry Brown if a VERY real prospect to beat Whitman to become Governor yet again. In fact, I expect Brown to win.
Lieutenant Governor
Here is an exercise in insanity all around. The idiot liberal asswipes are going to run the arch-marxist Gavin Newsome who did his best to ruin San Francisco as Mayor.
THE IDIOT FREAKING CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS sheepishly followed their paid for voting guides in rewarding Abel “Taxman” Maldonado for being one of the only Republican legislators to raise taxes the last budget cycle. SHAME on you stupid idiot Republicans who voted for the Taxman. SHAME ON YOU!
Attorney General
Kamala Harris leverages her name recognition as the top cop in San Francsco. This b!tch is as radical a communist as Obama and will make that abundantly clear in demanding court reviews for gay marriage while doing nothing to go after illegal aliens. This right here is why all CA liberals should be shot on sight.
Prop 14.
NOW FOR THE COUP DE GRAS!
Prop 14 is winning in a landslide, which makes all future Republican nominees moot as we will see 2 Democrats competing for all future statewide elections.
Screw you bunch of Calfornia bastards. You liberal asswipes have completely ruined my beautiful sunshine states and run it off a cliff into communist hell. Screw you you bastards.
I can’t wait until California goes completely tits up bankrupt, the welfare queens starving in the streets, and the bedwetting commies at each other throats on unemployment or 1/2 pay.
Screw you liberal commie punks.
I HATE THIS STINKING ROTTEN PIECE OF CRAP COMMUNIST CESSPOOL HELL-HOLE JERK-OFF STATE AND THE LOBOTOMIZED JACKASS VOTERS WHO MAKE IT THIS WAY.
Lord, hear my prayer. Please bring the 8.5 earthquake soon, epicentered right in the bay and cast San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley and all of the rest of that Marxist filth into the Pacific and wash it out to sea.
No, I disagree with you. Politics is politics and it always has been. The most motivated will always game the system, any system you bring to play.
NOTHING matters but an informed and MORAL electorate with Judeo-Christian values. Nothing. There is nothing a big money candidate can do to sway an informed, moral voter from his principled values. It only works on the moral-relativist, secular, entitlement-minded, guilt-ridden sheep who want everyone brought down to their level.
The rules of the game don’t matter. They just don’t. Nothing matters but an informed and moral electorate.
I will go this far however — only tax-payers and property owners should be allowed to vote. Welfare queens and those on the dole should not be allowed to vote, not even if you are temporarily on unemployment. Only those paying taxes should be allowed to vote.
Can’t disagree with a single thing you wrote. As much as I love where I live and the great neighborhood I am in with great schools, I fear Rawles’ book Patriots will soon be moving to the non-fiction aisle. If I wasn’t one of those crappy State workers, I woulda been outta here a long time ago.
I forgot to thank you very much for providing the links. I am very disappointed in these outcomes but grateful to know the truth.
California is doomed. We need to save the red and purple states and keep them from being further Californicated.
California Bankruptcy in 4... 3... 2...
Don't feel too bad about this. Just think of the Primaries as the actual election. If a Republican cannot win it, consider it similar to not winning the actual election. The silver lining is that Republicans will now pretend to be Democrats.
The proposition itself might be unconstitutional.

Best Newman from Seinfeld impression: "Hello Jerry!"
I think Prop 14’s passage is the worst thing that’s happened to California in a long time. Why didn’t the GOP/conservatives spend more time/money campaigning against it? Most people had no idea what they were voting for....
OMG!!!!! It’s winning???????????
Woo Hoo! Go Meg! Beat Brown! She can do it.
Poizner cannot even concede gracefully. Weasel.
It’s pretty depressing all around.
Prop 14 and Prop 15 (public funding for elections) are also both winning.
Too many Californians are brain dead, IMO

Treasurer’s race set: Lockyer vs. Walters
With all party primaries uncontested, the result in the treasurer’s primary was known weeks ago when candidates filed their papers: GOP Sen. Mimi Walters will face incumbent Democrat Bill Lockyer in November.

Disgruntled California voters have blown up their election system by approving Proposition 14, which tosses out the current political party-based primary system in all but presidential races.
The measure was far ahead in early returns, with about 60 percent of votes in favor and 40 against with more than 12 percent of precincts reported.
Backed strongly by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Proposition 14 called for a new "open" primary, in which all candidates for an office - except those in presidential primaries - appear on a ballot given to voters regardless of party registration.
Under the system - which Washington state has already adopted - the top two vote-getters who emerge from a primary square off in a general election, even if they are from the same political party.

“Newport beach is a relatively liberal coastal community in Orange County California.”
Newport Beach is hardly “relatively” liberal. I am not surprised DeVore would win there, and several other areas in OC. In fact maybe OC overall.
OC is historically among the most conservative regions in the state.

It was, before it became an enclave of Mexico over the last 20 years.

I voted Fitz based on your input the other day (yesterday?)
I’m watching the results. Why on earth to the GOP field SIX candidates for AG?
Was this a planned “split the vote” maneuver to ensure Maldonado’s win? Crazy.
AG should be LtGov
Duh

As for GuvLt, it is because the job doesn't do $#!t except fund raise and put out press releases and go to nice lunches. A nice place holder while you wait your turn.
So just think....in January we could very well have Governor Jerry Brown, Lt. Gov Gavin Newsome, and AG Kamila Harris. Bay Area politics will be in charge in Sacramento. Any better reasons not to move outta here?

LOS ANGELESSan Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris has won the Democratic primary for state attorney general.
Harris will face Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley in the general election in November to replace Democrat Jerry Brown, who is running for governor.
... Harris, 45, was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003, becoming the county’s first female district attorney and the first black woman elected district attorney in California. She was re-elected in 2007.
She has been dogged by a recent scandal at San Francisco’s crime lab, but that did not seem to resonate with voters ...
“She has been dogged by a recent scandal at San Franciscos crime lab, but that did not seem to resonate with voters ...”
Well, I think it will resonate if pounded into voters’ heads over tv and radio all summer.
Also, she is anti death penalty, and CA is still a pro death penalty state.
In re: Mayor Newsome, I am looking forward to the “BELIEVE IT OR NOT” commercials, hopefully plenty of other hideous gaffs, to start inundating our airwaves.
Maldonado wins GOP nomination for attorney general
Abel Maldonado has won the Republican race for lieutenant governor, beating Sen. Sam Aanestad.
The incumbent by virtue of appointment by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maldonado jumped to an early lead and never relinquished it. He had 46 percent of the votes with 48 percent of precincts statewide reporting. Aanestad garnered 29 percent.
Four other GOP hopefuls registered 8 percent or less.
... Aanestad tried to paint Maldonado, recently appointed to the post, as a tax raiser. ...
