Heres a little bit of good news. Well, I suppose its bad news that the PC crowd got as far as they did with this bill. But at least it was defeated, even if by only one vote.
"NYCF: On June 8, 2010, by the narrowest of margins (12-11), the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee voted to reject a bill known as the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA or the Bathroom Bill)."
....
The worst part of this story I saw it mentioned on a message board and had to google the law to find out about it. No news coverage. How typical.

one vote!!
“...S2406 Duane would open all public accommodations, including restrooms, high school locker rooms, health clubs, dorm rooms and other single sex residential facilities (like homeless and family violence shelters) to both biological genders, dependent upon whether or not an individual chooses to identify his or herself as the opposite sex (i.e. cross-dressers or transvestites).”
Um...wow. The ramifications, if this had passed...just wow.
Sanity survives to fight another day. Thanks for posting.
What, on Earth, is a "biological gender"? Why not say "both sexes"? The PC crowd is murdering the language.
Gee, if I was a pervert and want to get good looks at women, I could declare myself a woman so I can go into their locker rooms and bathrooms. Be a field day !
A few years ago I was at the UC Santa Cruz Campus and the hostel I stay at is closed during the day. I did some good biking on the back campus and when I got done, I needed a shower plus I needed to meet a friend for dinner around 5:30pm. I went into one of the dorms to clean up. The facilities were “co-ed”. Very strange indeed. I went in, showered and then left as soon as I was done.
It's a key element in their tactics. By twisting the language they gain significant advantage in debate.
