Stephanopoulos Cites Tea Party ‘Losing Steam,’ But Skips Obama’s Plummeting Numbers

On Tuesday’s World News, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos touted how “we've got a new poll out tonight that shows the Tea Party may be losing steam nationwide” as its unfavorable rating has “gone up eleven points in the last couple of months to 50 percent. Their favorable rating has gone down.”

Stephanopoulos and ABC, however, didn’t find time, in multiple stories on the oil leak, to inform viewers how the same ABC News/Washington Post survey, released Tuesday morning, found that by 49 to 44 percent the public disapproves of President Obama's handling of the disaster. In addition, “the number of Americans who think the President ‘understands the problems of people like you,’ at 51 percent, is down from 56 percent in a Washington Post poll in late March; and at 57 percent his rating as a strong leader is down from 65 percent in March.” (PDF of poll results)

Stephanopoulos raised the Tea Party’s standing in a preview of Tuesday’s primary elections. Anchor Diane Sawyer wondered: “And what does this mean, the outsider momentum for the Tea Party? Does it roll straight to November?” Stephanopoulos answered:

Not entirely clear. We've got a new poll out tonight that shows the Tea Party may be losing steam nationwide. Look at the unfavorable rating. It's gone up eleven points in the last couple of months to 50 percent [from 39]. Their favorable rating has gone down [41 to 36]. So the Tea Party still has enough juice to win these primaries, but they may be putting their party in a position of making it harder to win those seats in November.

Stephanopoulos meets and talks regularly with the White House for propaganda strategy sessions.

He is a national embarassment.

ABC/Washington Post survey! ROTFL!!!

Sorry little fella. You're going to have to do better than that. By the way, got any "surveys" about the way the public feels about your unions? SEIU and the rest of those Nazis? Hmmmmmm?

The local ABC affiliate here in Vegas was echoing Georgie boy tonight regarding the downturn in Tea Party popularity only to follow in the next segment that Sharon Angle won today’s primary to face Harry Reid going from a virtual unknown at 5% in the polling to victory at 37% due solely to the contributions and support of the Tea Party Express. Go figure?

The “Tea Party” was PC and lame from the get-go. Of course that pot was going to stop whistling.

Any group that begins with “This isn’t about 0bama!” isn’t going to get me fired-up, that’s for sure.

However, it was a fantastic means of diverting the momentary anger of the sheeple as their government, right and left, proceeded to rape and pillage.

Add an “accidental” oil spill, and Poof!...”What unlawful, freedom-destroying health care bill? What constitution? What communists?”

Who the hell listens to Staphlococcolus any longer? Even ol' Blue Stain Dress doesn't, f'Heaven's sake.

Leave the smarmy egotist to his own devices (such as they are). Great bloody J-sus, why give this self-absorbed clown any publicity whatever? Good grief!

How does a non party go down in the polls?

I get so bleeping mad when people refer to tea parties
as A political party, as in Democrat or Republican.

Tea PartieS, named after the Boston tea party, are gatherings of people with the conservative principles that made America a great nation.

I’ve never gotten over Stephy, the “Clinton boob”, taking the place of David Brinkley on Sunday mornings.

Well of course it’s “losing steam” because it’s being poured on ice for the summer. It will now be the ice tea party until the frost is on the pumpkin.

That’s what happens when the chattering classes get their hands on a cup (or glass) of Tea Party. They don’t know coffee beans about the difference between a Tea Party and the Republican Party or the Democrat Party. Be glad, at least, that it is being taken seriously enough now not to be called tea baggers any more.

"We've got a new poll out tonight that shows the Tea Party may be losing steam nationwide. Look at the unfavorable rating. It's gone up eleven points in the last couple of months to 50 percent..."

Your libtard poll aside, Stephy, I'm sure that all you SRM talking heads will be saying that the Republican steamrollering over the Democrats this coming November was "unexpected".

The “Tea Party” was PC and lame from the get-go.

Go stuff yourself, big man. What the hell did you ever do to get millions of conservatives into the street to protest this monstrous and tyrannical government?

Or did you prefer the old paradigm, where we all just sat around griping and moaning about the destruction of our country?

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

The left has laughed at the “Tea Party” from the beginning. And for good reason.

The “Tea Party” proved that the left has nothing at all to fear.

Americans are raped and pillaged and they organize large family picnics in response.

Ooooooooh, scary! That put the fear of God in them, lemme tell ya.

“You liberals take over just one more massive corporation, or assume control of another 1/6th of our economy and I’ll bring my patriotic gear right on down to Main Street where I’ll sing the national anthem and wave my flag! I’ll show you pesky liberals! And this is definitely NOT about 0bama, or the Democrats. This is about spending, dammit!”

I didn’t like it when they formed it, and I still don’t like it. It was a “pressure release valve” that served only the government that was/is absolutely corrupt.

We had a revolution in the 1700’s for much less.
