Stalin may have lost his faith because he read Darwin, but then he supported Lysenko, whose view of evolution was quite different and illogical.

Yep, and Stalin exiled anybody who agreed with Darwin and Mendel to Siberia.

Lysenkoism was just as unscientific as creationism, but dressed in the language of the ‘theology’ of communism.

:') I think it gives Stalin too much credit. He was a twisted freak with a frightening level of disregard for human life. I like this shot, it shows Stalin's warm side, smiling pleasantly while Lysenko paints the way to the future.
