I’ve defended Buchanan in the past, but he’d better start paying closer attention to who his allies are on this issue.
I never cared for BuKlanan. The only reason he gets attention is because he gives conservatism a bad name.
PB tries to defend the terrorists trying to run the blockade by saying that Israel is within its rights to keep weapons out but not concrete (used to build and support tunnels below the wall) and other non delineated “humanitarian” supplies. BP also says that he is not aware of any weapons used by the terrorists besides sticks, all the while slides showing all the knives, clubs and gas masks used to attack the IDF.

We can’t be too hard on poor Pat. He had an Uncle who died at Auschwitz, he fell out of a guard tower.
He vigorously defends the legality of Israels blockade and necessity of interdicting arms and weapons. However he opines that Israel is shooting its self in the foot by ham handedly interfering with the transit of humanitarian aid and other necessities such as cement and structural steel etc. At least that is what I heard him to say, and he had already translated it from the original German for us.

Sadly, Pat has gone pretty deep into the loony bin since his presidential bid. His prior thinking could be seen as an alternative intellectual take for quite a while there, but his comments about the Middle-East, Europe, Naziism, and other things have gotten worse.
His grasp of military matters is lame. His grasp of U.S. involvement in prior wars is also lame.
The guy is just ‘out there’.
Israel is in the right here. There just isn’t any other rational explanation considering the terrorism it is subject to.
That Buchanan, Obama, Europe, the Democrat Party, and sadly even the Republican party to a degree can’t buy a clue with regard to this, is shameful. It’s more than a black-eye on the West. It’s fast becoming open flagrant and raging anti-Semitic.
We all think Helen Thomas was out of line, but what are the apolgists for the Arabs, and the unjust criticizers of Israel doing if not the same thing?
When Israel takes measure to end terrorism, and our Presidents and other appointees and political leaders demand it show restraint, isn’t that tantamount to saying it’s okay for Jews die?
Why is it that the U.N. and Helen Thomas are bad, and yet our people are good when they are Helen Thomas in sheep’s clothing?
We are losing it in the West, and no amount of explaining it away covers it any longer.
I just can’t believe they still let him on TV. Who are his fans? Whom does he represent?
The left loves to have him on. He blurs the Conservative message, and you can’t expect McCain to do that all by himself you know.
Pat is the conservative stray man for MSNBC liberals to knock down.

If Israel is right to blockade weapons, but wrong to blockade aid ships ... how are they to tell the difference without boarding?
How should they respond when the tenants of the ship (a ship whose contents are still unknown) wield knives and clubs, and take soldiers captive?
Someone will have to translate my questions into German for Herr Buchanan.

Israel allows concrete and building materials in. But only under the supervision of UNWRA, which presumably makes sure it's used for legitimate rather than terror related purposes. Yes, I know UNRWA's dismal record, but they're the "authority". None of which matters, Hamas is refusing to allow any of the aid from last weeks flotilla into Gaza.

Pat Buchanan is a disagrace.
I liked this guy’s position on a number of other issues, but his blatant anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli posturing turned me off totally to him years ago.
He is an embarrassment and no mental posturing and argumentative contortions can present his views as anything other than what they and he are and is - Anti-Semitic.
