Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to protect the environment. In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man's destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions - but particularly those of Islam. He said the current 'division' between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment - which goes against the grain of 'sacred traditions'.

The Muslim way is to keep the masses in poverty and dominated and the elite in luxury. Guess where an oaf like Charles sees himself in that scheme of things. Islam has never progressed beyond a nomadic, Bronze Age, world view, and Islamists are determined to blow us back to that. Liberals aren’t much different, in that they too envision a world of dominated serfs where the only beneficiaries of the enlightenment are elites. In my opinion, Charles is a closet Muslim, but many liberals identify with Islamic ignorance, not the least of which is a shared hatred of the West.
