Even FedEx couldn't have delivered this bundle any faster.

A day after a 22-year-old Haitian woman gave birth aboard an American Airlines flight from Port-au-Prince to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, she was resting comfortably Saturday with her newborn son at Broward General Medical Center.

"Mom is here with the baby, and they're both doing very well,'' said hospital spokeswoman Cathy Schwartz, who said the new mother had requested anonymity.

A doctor aboard the flight, assisted by the flight crew, helped deliver the baby at 6:53 p.m. Friday — 37 minutes before the plane landed, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said.

Aw, "the little guy" could get free flights. Does he have to pay the baggage fee? The taxes?

How’s Dad doing?

Is Mom a legal citizen?

Excerpt:

Because the baby was born in U.S. air space and landed on U.S. soil, Fagan said she presumed the baby would be a U.S. citizen.

“I think it’s where you’re landing,” she said. “I think it’s where they file the certificate of birth.”

Calls to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials were not returned Saturday.

Whether American Airlines will reward the little guy with free flights is yet to be seen.

In October, a baby boy born on an AirAsia flight from Penang, Malaysia, to Kuching, Borneo, received free AirAsia flights for life.

In February, a baby girl born two weeks prematurely aboard a Bolivian Transportes Aereos Militares plane was given free domestic flights until she reaches age 21, according to The Associated Press. She also will get a scholarship through high school at a Bolivian Air Force school.

Maybe there will be a new tax imposed for domestic but not international travelers to offset the potential free tickets issued in the future. I could see us paying extra for the benefit of this “little guy.”

Absolutely!

If she is a single mom and ILLEGAL, I can see Obama giving away more of our money to attract more of this.

This ios nuts — they didn’t used to let women in last stages of pregnacy on flights for this very reason — danger to herself and the child. Terrible — imagine if it had been a breach or C-section birth.

If he was born in US airspace and presumably in the USA and has a US birth certificate he could legitimately become president. He certainly has more documentation of his birth than the current resident of the White House.

Hope they have health insurance... otherwise they could be kicked right out on the tarmac by the heartless Americans.

I am glad this baby at least got out of Haiti, he is one lucky kid. He’s in the best country in the world now.
