Gloria Estefan: Arizona Immigration Law Won’t ‘Stop Criminals’ (Liberal Moonbat is wrong, again)
CNS News ^ | June 14, 2010 | Nicholas Ballasy

Grammy award-winning musician Gloria Estefan told CNSNews.com that Arizona’s new law against illegal immigration is not “going to stop criminals.” She also said, “You can’t equate criminals with undocumented workers.”

At the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., CNSNews.com asked Estefan, “I saw you participated in a protest against the Arizona immigration law. What specifically is your issue with the law?”

“First of all, the march that I participated in was one asking for immigration reform. It has happened every year. It wasn’t specifically because of Arizona. It’s been happening for quite a few years now – immigrants getting together asking for some kind of immigration reform,” Estefan said.

“I read the law top to bottom, because I wanted to make sure – and believe me, we’re in Florida, we also get a lot of immigration in Florida,” she said. “We’ve been lucky being Cubans that we have a, you know, kind of a status, refugee status that has been given to us, but we really do need this immigration reform.”

Actually, that amendment got voted down because La Raza didn't like it.

Here are the Senators who voted against the Cornyn amendment , which would have established a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals looking to snag a shamnesty visa. Republicans underlined:

Never forget McCain not only pushed the amnesty bill, he refused to allow exclusions for the worst of the lot. And he unloaded his infamous temper on his mild-mannered senate colleague for having the audacity to introduce this amendment.

Undocumented +illegal. Illegal means that you are in violation of the law. That does not seem difficult to understand.

Also, her comment about what “can” be done under the Arizona law is ludicrous. Can is imprecise. Anything can affect the behavior of human beings, law enforcement people too. How do you cover that in arguing against a law that the citizens of Arizona were forced to pass in order to try to protect themselves?

Send her back to one of Castro’s re-education camps and keep her there.

Good update. I think Craig and Martinez are gone or will be soon. And as for Specter.... Well, he got his walking papers already.

I feel pretty certain that the Kyl amendment would survive if it was part of a new bill. So it DOES NOT change the reality.

Just think. if it’s only 20 percent that fail the backgground check and we have 15 million here now wanting shamnesty.

You better gas up the buses pilgrim and hire ALLOT more ICE agents.

You can’t equate criminals with undocumented workers.”

It is a Federal CRIME to enter the U.S. without proper documents and/or in an unapproved location. By definition, "undocumented workers" are CRIMINALS.

When these people start marching in Polish Pride, Irish Pride, German Pride, etc. parades I’ll believe they are honest. Until then they are racists, pure and simple.

"Wide-stance" Craig is already gone. Politically, I think you could get a lot of self-deporting done simply by a demonstrated willingness to enforce the law. Arizona has proved as much.

I think we could even rachet it up a notch or two with a cash for deportation program.

The first million or so who report for deportation would get a cash payment for each year they've been here and even some extra points for consideration of getting an immigrant visa if they had done things like learned English and paid taxes. These bennies would only be collectable when they are physically present in their country of origin.

The second million would get a generous benefit package until finally you get down to offering a nice sack lunch and a free bus ride.

By the time you get to the end of said amnesty program, those remaining could be rounded up and have their bank accounts and property seized to help pay for the program. The cream of the crop of the early takers would also start being admitted.

There would be no need to open a special line for the amnesty crowd to get into the back of-- because the early departures would already be moving to the front of the regular lines.

I like it. Could be kinda expensive though. Run the numbers. Call my secretary. we’ll do lunch.

The ones with criminal records though, go back. No bonus. If they refuse. They get to “help” build the fence that will keep them out permanently.

We will allow them to participate in the “take a friend” program. The only eligible friend is their former employer. They like working together so they can continue.
