This is the third bust in the last month. Last Week in North Washington 65lbs of Heroin was siezed.

Near us on the coast an illegal and his buddy were busted for large amounts of meth.

These drug dealers were Mexican Nationalists from Arizona.

Its the black tar heroin that has made a big come back and 100 people have died in the last year from overdoses.

Looks like the busts are moving down the I-5 corridor. (I’m shocked, shocked I tell you) Hopefully the next big raids will be Woodburn and Salem. Gonna be a lot of people visiting the Methadone clinics for a few weeks.

Oregon = very liberal state.

Mexican Nationalists from Arizona = likely took their "jobs" elsewhere due to Arizona's new law (sarcasm).

Meth used to be a very locally based industry.

Tightening of controls on the precursors for meth have led to Mexican meth production and some smuggling of the precursors themselves.

This seems kinda odd. There was very little money seized for an allegedly big operation.

Those wrist-slitters in the Northwest in places like Portland and Seattle sure love shooting up the schmack.

Who stays in cash? Cash has opportunity cost after you meet your cash flow needs. You roll it over into inventory. The rules don't change on the business side just because the goods are unlawful.

Actually the rules change quite a bit in the heroin trade and it is difficult to constantly transform the cash flow into inventory. It is possible that this bust occurred right after a major purchase but this does not add up on casual observation.

Obviously banks aren't drawing money from mortgage accounts these days. Drug dealers have to keep their stashes in a safe, quickly and easily accessible place (FDIC backed).

that’s a real nasty area. The Fred Meyer down the road from it had to shut down a few years ago after mexican gangs continued “Hit and Run” shoplifting hurt the revenue too bad.

Yeah, but they sure struck pay-dirt on the number of vehicles they seized.

The drugs were actually in the guys transmission fluid pan.

Could be he had not unloaded his goods yet to sell.

Can anyone explain what a Mexican Nationalist is?
