James Clyburn Claims 'Hacking' Behind Alvin Greene's Surprise Win in S.C. Senate Race
FOX NEWS ^ | 06/15/2010

Hackers must be behind Senate candidate Alvin Greene's victory in the South Carolina Democratic primary last week, Rep. James Clyburn claimed in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.

Trying to account for how a candidate who had no money and no campaign infrastructure was able to pull out a victory over a well-funded local lawmaker in a statewide race, the powerful South Carolina Democrat said the touch-screen voting machines used by the state are notoriously unreliable. Without citing evidence, Clyburn said the voting machines could have been compromised.

"I believe there was some hacking done into that computer," Clyburn told Fox News, suggesting that somebody at the state could have deliberately bought those machines so that the system would be vulnerable. South Carolina uses a machine called the iVotronic.

"Maybe somebody wanted the machines that were easily hacked into ... We had no business with those machines in South Carolina," he said.

The State Election Commission rejected that theory on Tuesday. Chris Whitmire, spokesman for the commission, said the department has not detected even a hint of fraud or hacking in Tuesday's election and dismissed the charge that the system is not dependable.

To Rep. Clyburn-what about Obama’s victory don’t you understand? The only difference between Greene and Obama is a teleprompter.

This commie offers no proof. Just wishful conjecture on his part.

I dont see what the mystery is. The RAT primary vote in SC is about half black. It’s well within reason that black voters were more likely to come out for the primary with a black candidate on the ballot, isnt it? That’s what happened in 2008.

I suspect Clyburn is looking for a villain where there is none, just typical voting behavior.

Sounds like the voter fraud was 5 months early by some ACORN operatives.

Without citing evidence

Because there is none. Blaming technology which he hasn't the intellect to understand is preferable, I guess, to the truth. The people who vote in democrat primaries (aka "Democrats") are astoundingly stupid. That being said, and entirely by accident, they did nominate (or so I've read) an Army vet with a BA in Political Science. With those credentials it's clear they accidentally nominated the most qualified person on their ballot.

Folks, if you really looked at Greene’s background he looks like a decent candidate. He isn’t one of those uneducated bum one picks up on the street and then suddenly placed in the ballot.

Greene holds a degree in Political Science from the Unviersity of South Carolina and stands as a decorated United States veteran who served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force before receiving an involuntary honorable discharge in 2009. He has received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal

He is currently unemployed and lives with and cares for his father in Manning, roughly halfway between Columbia and Charleston. OK, he’s unemployed, but heck -— so are 17% of Amerucan out there. And it’s not like he isn’t out there looking for a job.

He won this primary fair and square and RACIST ( that’s right, I said it ) Democrats are trying to look down on him.

I say, let him run and let’s listen to his policy ideas to see if he’s worth electing. That’s the American way.

RE: In a fair and just world Clyburn would be a men’s lavatory attendant rather than a congressman.

I’d even say Greene is more of a decent candidate than Clyburn himself.

Greene told The Item that he graduated from Manning High School in 1995 and from the University of South Carolina in 2000.

MORE ABOUT Alvin Greene here :

http://www.theitem.com/news/local_news/article_0524b36c-ec80-5eba-882f-713558543451.html

He claims to have served in both the Air Force and the Army during separate periods and that he left the Army nine months ago as a specialist.

“I was active duty with the Army for two-and-a-half years, and I was also stationed at Shaw Air Force Base for a while,” he said.

As an unemployed veteran trying to find work and living with his parents, Greene said he was motivated to run for one of South Carolina’s two Senate seats to help “Get South Carolina Back to Work.”

The phrase serves as his campaign slogan, he said.

“We need to get our priorities straight,” he said. “We spend more money in this state on inmates than we do on our students. My focus is on jobs, education and justice in the judicial system. Those are my main issues.”

While he didn’t elaborate on any specific ideas, he said focusing on these issues will help him rally against DeMint in November. He said he hoped the state and national party leadership would help his campaign, which he claims to have funded entirely out of his pocket.

“I’ve done this all 100 percent on my own,” he said, noting that he paid the filing fee from his own money as well. “It has been important for me to do this, to be one of the many jobless South Carolinians and have a voice in getting the state back on track.”

Officials with DeMint’s campaign had no comment about Greene’s win, but noted DeMint has raised more than $3.5 million for his campaign to keep his seat, which he first won in 2004.

Greene must still be confirmed as the nominee when votes are certified at 3 p.m. Friday at the State Election Commission in Columbia. He has yet to file with the secretary of the Senate in Washington, D.C., or with the Federal Election Commission, steps that are required by law.

Dem’s loved those machines in states where their candidates were winning and the pubbies hated them...now the Dem’s are whining. Maybe they’ll see that it’s time to have machines that leave audit capable paper receipts or ballots in case of suspected counting errors!

He was even crazier on Morning Joe. To his credit Scarborough razzed him hysterically.

The Democrats use Clyburn to say all the totally insane crap so they sound logical and reasonable in comparison.
