'There is no West without Israel'
Israel Today ^ | June 15, 2010 | Staff

Posted on 06/15/2010 12:58:39 PM PDT by La Enchiladita

A group of respected former world leaders and academic figures came together in Paris earlier this month to establish the Friends of Israel initiative to combat what they called the "delegitimation of the State of Israel."

The group was led by former Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar and included Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former First Minister of Northern Ireland David Trimble, former Peruvian president Alejandro Toledo, Italian philosopher Marcelo Pear, British historian Andrew Roberts and former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton.

In a press release prior to the Paris event, the group expressed its outrage over the "unprecedented delegitimation campaign against Israel, driven by the enemies of the Jewish state and perversely assumed by numerous international authorities."

The Friends of Israel initiative differs from and compliments other pro-Israel movements because it "is promoted by people who are not Jewish and whose motivations are based on the deep conviction that Israel is part of the Western world. In fact, today Israel is a fundamental actor for the future of the West."

News of the initiative's launch was severely muted as it took place less than a day after Israel's raid on the Free Gaza "humanitarian aid" flotilla that was trying to break Israel's blockade of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

Interesting coincidence as this meeting was planned before the flotilla broke the blockade.

Very true, even though initially it was the French who supported the Israelis during the 40s - 60s.

G-d has different thoughts on the matter. Israel will never be destroyed again. On the other hand, America will be destroyed if she curses Israel, as per Genesis 12:3.

In 1948, the Soviet Union recognized Israel and assumed it would be a Soviet ally. And it might have become so had not Truman overruled the ‘experts’ in the USA. Israel might have been a much larger and more ruthless nation as a Soviet proxy.

This promise was made to whom????? Now the House of Jacob did NOT take heed of the writings of Moses particularly Deuteronomy 27- the end and by the time of the end of Solomon's rule they had a civil war. AND there became TWO houses of Jacob, one was the northern kingdom called the House of Israel, wherein it is recorded by Jeremiah that the Heavenly Father D I V O R C E D and sent her into captivity unto the Assyrian king. The House of Judah on the other hand a couple of hundred years later was sent into captivity to the king of Babylon.

Now IF people choose to stop reading the record at Genesis 12:3 claim it says what it does NOT say then hey they will be caught sleeping when the fake shows up.

Oh my.... Well look at the history of survival of the Soviet Union... they were never able to be self sufficient and always had to be ruling with the IRON fist some productive nation in order to keep their godless system at least on the proverbial ventilator.

Did not the Soviets also finance the Aswan Dam for Egypt?

Why is it that chr*stians read G-d's admonitions to never abandon the Torah as admonitions to convert to chr*stianity? Oh, that's right--because of their built-in assumptions!

The Bolsheviks, while supporting "revolutionary" nationalisms around the world (such as the Irish) opposed Zionism from the beginning. This policy changed for a very brief period after WWII because the Soviet line at that time was very anti-British and the Zionists wanted the Brits out of Israel (which was called "Palestine" at that time; ironically, "Palestinians" meant Jews). The recognition of Israel by Stalin was part of this; the Soviets also allowed the Czechs to supply Israel with arms (while the US kept the embargo on).

But within a few years everything had back to the way things were before. The Soviets had the Czechs supply the Arabs and the idea of revolutionary "Third World" nationalism began to develop.

You are correct.

Israel would be similar to the other Soviet proxies, perhaps like Cuba.

The Soviets sought clients in Egypt and Syria because they didn’t get one in Israel. They didn’t develop infrastructure out of altruism.

::Facepalms:: But of course! It's so obvious it just ups and bites you, doesn't it? Goodness knows Genesis 3:15 is referring to none other than J*sus--because the "new testament" is the "word of G-d!" And we know the "new testament" is the "word of G-d" because the "new testament" claims to be the "word of G-d!" Well, I'm sure convinced--NOT!!!

Your belief about Genesis 3:15 is called an assumption, dear.

So according to you the Jews didn't disobey Deuteronomy 27 but Genesis 3:15--right? Because Deuteronomy 27 sure as shootin' warns about what will happen if Israel abandons the Torah--for chr*stianity or anything else.

So the ‘West’ would have existed as we know it had the Israelites not been freed from bondage in Egypt... and not received the Ten Commandments?

Had no covenant been made between G-d and Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the children of Israel?

The author is correct in stating the there would be no ‘West’ without Israel.

Hopefully, John Bolton will be the Secretary of State in the next Republican administration beginning in January 2013.

Wonder what the Islamo-pandering French thought of Paris as the site for this Friends of Israel initiative? They probably didn't even realize it was going on right in front of their very eyes, because they didn't stop it and apparently had nothing to say to appease their Muslim population.

You mean, the US was a real big help in 1948, when it helped enforce an arms blockade against the newly formed state, in the hopes of preventing the war from “escalating”. Or how about in 1967, when the US was busily keeping Jordanian planes running, and Israel’s closest ally was France? There may or may not be a West without Israel, but it’s a much nobler, better West WITH us, and you can bet that we’ll do all we can to help the French resistance after France has been Islamicized. There will be no West if you people don’t wake up, smell the coffee, and start making babies and guns.

http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/myths/mf6.html#d

The United States tried to prevent the war through negotiations, but it could not persuade Nasser or the other Arab states to cease their belligerent statements and actions. Still, right before the war, Johnson warned: “Israel will not be alone unless it decides to go alone.”16 Then, when the war began, the State Department announced: “Our position is neutral in thought, word and deed.”17

Moreover, while the Arabs were falsely accusing the United States of airlifting supplies to Israel, Johnson imposed an arms embargo on the region (France, Israel’s other main arms supplier, also embargoed arms to Israel).

By contrast, the Soviets were supplying massive amounts of arms to the Arabs. Simultaneously, the armies of Kuwait, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq were contributing troops and arms to the Egyptian, Syrian and Jordanian fronts.

[and yet, Israel’s near-perfect air strikes at the outset of Israel’s combat phase destroyed the Arab airforces on the ground, giving Israel complete air superiority, and helped lead to the destruction in detail of the various attacking Arab fascist forces. Syria was driven off the Golan Heights, Jordan was run out of eastern Israel (which is what the “West Bank” is) and eastern Jerusalem which it had ethnically cleansed in 1948, Egypt lost the Sinai (again) and lost use of the Suez Canal for more than six years, and everyone working under him was afraid to tell Nasser that the propaganda broadcasts concealed a comprehensive defeat.]

Well at least you did not partially quote Genesis 12:3 as warning to US IF we don't do this or that. Write a letter to BamBamKennedy's teleprompter programmers, they have the influence over him, certainly NOT the American people.

Furthermore I do believe US removing that want-a-be king of Babylon, old Saddam might be a little more appreciated given he was using the monies off his 'oil for rotten food' program set up by the globalist to fill their pockets to pay off those homicide bombers when they pulled of their barbarism in that land.

IT is incalculable the amount of blood and treasury this nation has put forth to end the insanity that has taken place. But our Jon Stewart media filled the minds of the majority of our populace with LIES about George Bush we in the majority decided to hire an image that is .ell bent on destroying US.

Seriously, the US has been great at times. But our alliance with my birthplace does not go as far back as it’s purported to. In 1961, Kennedy finally backed out of the arms blockade, thereby making the US not an ally, but at least not an adversary. After 1967, Golda Meir spent much of her time on good will trips to the US, winning friends and influencing people. In 1973, Richard Nixon came to Israel’s aid at a crucial moment, which is why we’re still here. The alliance developed some time between 1967 and 1973, but it’s not etched in stone, and as long as Obama is President and Dems control both houses of congress, it’s no longer a reality.

As for the babies and guns remark, that was more aimed at those sissified Europeans, who are being invaded and bullied in their own countries, and are letting it happen. Remember, France, Germany, Spain, England: Start stockpiling illegal firearms, incendiaries and long knives now. Unless you wake up PDQ, sooner or later you’ll need them. Also, throw away those condoms and do it au natural. You’ll need all the kids you can get.
