Obama to visit Columbus on Friday
President will deliver opening words at a ceremony
Updated: Wednesday, 16 Jun 2010, 1:10 PM EDT
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - Air Force One will touch down in Ohio's capital city when President Obama visits on June 18.
Obama will visit Columbus to meet with workers and deliver remarks at the groundbreaking of a road project funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
U.S. Route 40 is set to be resurfaced along with bridge work on Interstate 71, among other projects made possible by the recovery and reinvestment act.
What percent of time as he slept in the white house ?
Someone tell that SOB to stay in the Oval Office for a few days straight and do some actual work instead of continually campaigning.
He wants them to rename it Sacajawea.
I guess the hole will be plugged by June 17th?~sarc
It will be interesting to see if Ted Strickland shows up to be seen with 0. I hope 0 works real hard to get Ted reelected:)
I pray someone does the electronic billboard thing again...
What did Columbus do wrong?
You can bet ole Mayor Coleman, the man who would be Governor instead of Ted except he ran into a rookie Glenn Beck on the way to the State House, will be there with his knee pads and nose up the chute.
Obama needs to be impeached, tried for treason and shipped to Gitmo to rot with his buddies.
really..fire up those jet engines and burn some more tax dollars...In case you havn’t noticed slavery is back in and we are the slaves.
obammie is an ass-fart
OBOBO Go Home !
I guess it must be a really imortant Hwy or is he bringing some of the recovered oil from the Gulf Coast to make the tar.
Michael B. Coleman (born November 18, 1954) is an American politician of the Democratic Party and the mayor of Columbus, Ohio. He is the first African-American mayor of Ohio's capital.
I am to be there Sat for a concert/gig.
Might have to pass as i doubt the stench will be gone in that short time
thanks for ping Dave
Crap. Traffic is bad enough already with the highway construction. And those “this project made possible by [insert name of latest bailout]” signs are annoying.
Even if not a campaign stop, I still predict Strickland to lose a few more points against Kasich due to this visit.
Visiting Columbus, I’m shocked especially after this happened.....
Monday night a woman was arrested at Port Columbus Intl Airport after stepping off a private plane originating in Van Nyes, CA. Why was she arrested? It might have something to do with 13 suitcases and 500lbs. of weed. But what do I know....
He's got too much ass kickin' to do.
He’s a chain smoker. No smoking in the White House.
Do some actual work, Obama? Why all he’s doing is coming to the state where a high percentage of people get paid to sit on their asses and not work. So he’ll fit right in.
Friday, Parma City Hall is closed for a budget crisis holiday. Interesting how the day can’t possibly happen in the winter when the weather is bad. And if anyone thinks the workers aren’t getting paid, or if the day is taken from their vacation......
gee, could they have been any more specific about the time and location?

President Barack Obama will visit Columbus on Friday. Sources say he will attend the groundbreaking of an expansion at Ohio State University’s Medical Center, known as “ProjectONE.
Ted’s not that dumb. He figures to be the one Democrat surviving November’s GOP tide, and with his NRA endorsement he might be right.
"What'd you say/"
Will ACORN be involved in this project even though they are banned from Ohio?
ACORN Cracked, Run Out of State Under RICO Act in Ohio
by Kyle Olson
The wounded ACORN snake continues writhing. This time, the group has been barred from the entire state of Ohio, a swing state where the organization was very active in the last presidential election.
So active, in fact, it received an Unsung Hero award from the Communist Party USA for its critical but generally unrecognized role of organized labor and grassroots voter registration efforts in winning Ohio for Barack Obama, according to a document on ACORNcracked.com.
But now, ACORN has reached a settlement under the Ohio Corrupt Activities Act, similar to the federal RICO Act the same law thats used to prosecute mobsters and drug kingpins. Under the settlement, ACORN, along with Project Vote, agreed to file a certificate permanently surrendering its business license in Ohio by June 1, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
The next part of the settlement was critical: it bars ACORN from simply changing its name and moving back into the state. From the Dispatch:
Yeah that’s about half stupid. “The president is going to be at this location at this time blah blah...”
During his talking down to us session on the tv the other night, he said that we have to change the way we use energy. So today he is going to fire up the 747 to fly to Ohio and back for a 1 1/2 hour appearance. I wonder if AF1 uses jet fuel from BP?

Obama’s Stimulus Visit Results in Lost Payday for Construction Workers
went to the groundbreaking of a road project in Columbus, Ohio, Friday to show that his massive stimulus package is still churning out jobs — a “good news” story that was anything but for some construction workers who were trying to figure out how to make up for the payday they lost due to the president’s visit.
