Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll
Community Coordinating Council was attended by over 300 people. Gail Bush, Kay Kohler, Sandy and Gene Sjostrand, and Debbie Hayes are the driving force of the Green Valley-Sahaurita TEA Party. The attendees were an amalgam of Libertarians, Independents and Republicans with a smattering of Democrats. I asked the organizers which came first for them, their frustration and wanting to do something or the TEA Party movement. All of them replied that they had gotten fed up with all the political parties, particularly the establishment GOP, when the TEA Parties started, they saw the movement as their best opportunity to have a real say in the vetting of candidates and the ability to really do something with their voice.
