Police are investigating a triple shooting that left two men dead and wounded a teenager.
The shooting occurred late Monday night in the 400 block of Chapel St., according to Cpl. Paula Scheck, a spokeswoman for Hampton police. Investigators have learned that a resident of the home and two acquaintances were sitting inside a detached garage about 10:30 p.m. when three men wearing masks walked up with handguns.
Gunfire erupted and two of the masked men were shot. One of them suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead inside the garage, police said this morning. The other was pronounced dead about 12:30 a.m. at a hospital.
A 17-year-old, who had been sitting inside the garage with the resident, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg was taken to a hospital, according to Scheck. He is expected to recover.
The names of the men who died were being withheld while their relatives were being contacted.

Were, like, ANY of those handguns legally owned?
Legal or not, another justification for armed self defense.
It is a sad state of affairs when you glance at an article like this and say to yourself .. “so what”!
This stuff is happening more and more everyday and everywhere.
The violence, immorality and corruption in society has become so commonplace that you (or at least I) come to accept it!
As I said .. A sad state of affairs!!
It’s also a sad state of affairs when MSM hacks use the phrase “gunfire erupted”, as if guns were living creatures that move about and act on their own.
Accelerated by drug abuse. Its hard to image how the world will not very soon will not plunge into gross darkness. The beginning of the End is starting to appear on the horizon. The Lord is the Way to a new life and new future.
Of course, inquiring minds want to know why the resident and his friends were hanging around in the garage at 10:30. Maybe it's a Hampton thing, but I have better places to hang out on a hot summer night.
More to the point, why were they hanging out at 10:30 p.m. ARMED? Not blaming them. In fact it appears to have been a rather good idea. But if one needs to be armed in this neighborhood, then some clean up is in order.
Don’t know anything about the Hamptons, but down here in the South a detatched garage can also mean a man-cave where the hunting trophys that the wife won’t let into the house can be hung on the wall (along with the bar, keg-a-rator, and the magazines).
I agree with you. So what?
Why are these types of articles even posted? The same thing happens in every large city each and every day.
Until we dispose of these animals (roast them in the fire) they will continue this carnage without hesitation, knowing little will come of it.
We only deal with the result of the problem...not the problem itself...and no, it ain’t because they were abused as children.
Follow the Virginian-Pilot website daily for a month and witness the sheer amount of killing that goes on in Norfolk.
The concept of "legally owned" is an artificial thing thought up by politicians and police bureaucrats to give the government one more opportunity to oppress the citizenry through the police. Criminals have no problem obtaining firearms, and never worry about the consequences of "illegal guns." It's only the law abiding who are hindered.
In that case it more than likely was the ‘man-cave’.
While not on the level of Chi-town killings YET, Hampton, VA is getting there - as well as Norfolk. Hanging out in the garage isn’t what most folks even in that neighborhood do. As for the proliference of guns, not too long ago, after a high school basketball game, kids drove around the parking lot, shooting it up...”civilized” society!
