Big Brother to Control YOU on the Internet

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse – unless you watch “Glenn Beck” every day – a bill is making its way through Congress that would give the President of the United States the authority to seize control of the world wide web in response to a “national cyber emergency.” It would also establish new federal bureaucracies with new powers to regulate the Internet.

The bill, entitled ‘‘Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010,’’ is a pet project of Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, with very strong support from Senator Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat and chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee.

Who gets to declare a national cyber emergency under this bill?

The President may issue a declaration of a national cyber emergency to covered critical infrastructure (Section 249 (a)(1))

Who gets to decide what constitutes “covered critical infrastructure?” It is defined as including any component of the “national information infrastructure,” which essentially means all portions of the Internet not already owned or licensed by the federal government, that appears on the prioritized critical infrastructure list established by the Secretary of Homeland Security. (Sections 3 and 241)

Yeah, heard about the internet from some dim-bulb-crat.

It has pipes ‘n things, doesn’t it?

And our messages go through those pipes in little plastic packet containers.

And it was all invented by Al Gore.

But, But, it was such a great idea when The Smirking Chimp and his Twerp AG's wanted to control the web by knowing our surfing information among other things. This was good because Brain Dead Bush Worshipers told me so. You were either with him or for the terrorist remember?

Well then remember this folks the next time a Republican gets in the Oval Office if there even is a next time. Any and all powers, programs, dumb ideas, U.S. Codes, taxes, laws, you name it will eventually fall into the wrong hands of an authoritarian tyrant wannabe dictator.

Half of the mess we are in now is due to the GOP congress which from 2001-2006 increased presidential powers, increased powers of government agencies, created unwarranted & unneeded offices created for political favors {such as Department of Homeland Security}, and created acts which should have never seen the light of day. That doesn’t excuse anything of what Barry Sortoro is doing but it sure does show how & where he got the ideas, notions, and precedents to try it.

I expect soon uncensored news will only be available by shortwave from over the Obama curtain and owning a short wave radio will be illegal. Obama is turning the USA into the Peoples Republic of America that will resemble the former East Germany
