My hometown, too. Great town, middle America. They are just trying to keep it that way.

WHY are our city and national “leaders” all so pro-wetback? WHY are they for giving the Southwest to Mexico?

Hormel would loose most of their work force if this passes. Not to mention what would happen if the idea spread.

Most of the employers in Fremont like Hormel rely on the cheap labor from illegals. Businesses have been very against this law, and the local Catholic diocese is fighting it also.

Money talks, bs walks. Even if it passes, the rumors are it will not be enforced.

We must be the same age. I have family still in Dodge county, and things are a lot different.

One friend was complaining about the Latin King gang signs painted on the north side of the mall.

Since when do elected people fight the electorate?

Since the time the electorate no longer had any understanding of the Constitution, the Bible, or where food comes from. Populations gather in cities and work for the government, which gives them things. They then vote for the gravy train.

Is it simpler than we think? That these Mayors, like L.A.’s Villaregosa, are merely on the payroll of the Mexican drug cartel? These laws are bad for their business. Follow the pesos.

Without ‘rule of law’, you have no civil society. We’re now subjected to man who rules on whims.

Most likely, these Mayors have big Agriculture contributors to serve.

Big ag is big business in Nebraska.

The way I hear it, one of the leaders against the ordinance IS a slumlord. Grand Island, Columbus and other small cities around Nebraska are waiting to see what happens in Fremont. State Senator Charlie Janssen is preparing to potentially introduce similar legislation at the state level.

Exactly. People need to realize that if we lose to the lawlessness, this nation cannot survive. Every law is offensive to the people who want to break it. If we truly buy into the post-modern idea that everybody makes their own truth and morality and there can’t be any enforced laws, the nation will be utterly destroyed by its own mental illness.

Not directed at the 1st post, just a general post on the topic.

I went to the DMV the other day, hadn’t been there in a decade (that makes me feel old), and several things caught my attention.

Let me preface by saying I live in a Chicago suburb.

First, the DMV has now been transformed into a Jesse White campaign office. I mean, this guys name was on everything (he’s our secretary of state). Every sign, every piece of paper. I was suprised he didn’t have the pencils engraved with his name. IMO, this is all political advertising to get name recognition, and it should not be allowed.

Secondly, they asked me if I wanted to sign up for “motor voter” registration. I said, sure, why not. They asked what party. I told them “independent”. I was told that was not a choice, either democrat or republican, or I could have them send me a form to fill out at home. “OK” I said, “send the form”. I had to answer 2 questions to get the form. 1) Are you a U.S. citizen and 2) Do you reside in Illinois.

I asked the heavy set, slow as cold molasses woman with cornrows and $300 dollar Gucci sunglasses who was serving me.... “All I do is mark the boxes? How do you know I’m a citizen?” She replied “cuz you marked the boxes.....”

The Third thing that caught my attention was how much the office was in spanish. I felt like I was south of the border. It was 50/50, the postings. Half English / Half Spanish. The books, pamphlets, postings, everything.

It then dawned on me. There is no verification here in Illinois of your citizenship to vote. And thats what the dems are banking on. The black vote is no longer large enough to keep them in office, this all boils down to illegal votes. They are losing white votes, so its all black and hispanic. But I see no one mention this.

Never, I never see that 3rd rail being touched. I hear Beck and Limbaugh mention they want the hispanic vote, but, I’ve never seen anyone touch the 3rd rail mentioning that these folks are relying on the ILLEGAL vote to win.

Maybe I’m slow on the uptake, and had a bit more faith that republicans were not allowing this sort of thing to go on, but after my DMV visit, my eyes have opened, and I see clearly that this must be part of gerrymandering and district splitting or just plain bastardized deal making for them to allow this to happen.

I have truly lost all faith in both parties.
