and round up/down all prices.

Round down? When has that ever happened?

“If you are too snobby to pick up a penny, I feel sorry for you.”

Please don’t.

I just know math and the current value of the US dollar.

I have been saving pennies for a decade now, one of these days I will go through them and look for the rarities, and to also isolate the real copper ones that are currently worth more as scrap metal per pound.

You’re STILL yammering about this today!

You have some nerve saying “please don’t”. You pick a fight, then whimper when you don’t like what you hear.

Listen, deary, you are not the only one who knows math and the value of a dollar. I don’t share your opinions. You’re just going to have to live with it.

I have a tendency to throw penny's in the parking lot of stores...Use to save them, had over 10000 then found out the banks didn't use coin counters (like they do in casinos) anymore and I had to roll them into paper penny rollers...Put my name of each roll and then the bank would take them.....I hate pennies....but still cannot help getting a few, these are rolled and given to my grandson who is a coin collector...

I figure little kids, being closer to the ground could pick them up as treasure found....

I meant please don’t feel sorry for me.
Save it for someone who needs it.

The penny is a massively outdated denomination.

It’s simply not worth the trouble.

Question....

Would you pick up a denomination if it’s value was a tenth of a penny?

I do not want to retire the penny. Once you do, the nickel will become the new penny. It will be everywhere ... and worthless.
And, I pick up pennies from the ground. Anyone who does not is an elitist.

I still bend over to pick up pennies despite ranting for years that they're so worthless that they SHOULD be abolished, and make the nickel the new penny on purpose. (the paper dollar should be mothballed in favor of a dollar coin as well)

But I could be persuaded otherwise if we banned the use of royal images on our currency, especially before some bozo proposes making some money with Klinton's or Bush's mugshot.

Get them idiots off our money. They're the ones who distroyed it's value anyway.

Bring back the Flying Eagle!
And make it out of copper.

Its definitely an improvement over the “boxcar” on the back on current pennies. Not as nice as the wheat penny, though.

Bring back the Flying Eagle! And make it out of copper.

It has to be smaller to be all copper. Smaller than the dime. And cost less than one cent to mint. A half cent of copper would be one centimeter or 3/8ths of an inch in diameter and one millimeter thick.

LOL! Well I gotta admit that's close enough for a quick comparison.
So don't mind me... I just suffered an engineer's primal urge to point out that 3/8" is .0187" short of a cm.
But I don't think they teach that in school anymore... everything's done with pushbuttons...

Yes, 3/8ths of an inch is .9525 centimeters.
But close enough for government work. ;-)

So the one cent coin or penny should be about half the size and thickness of the dime and made of pure copper.

The present penny is 19 mm in diameter, 1.55 mm thick, and 2.5 grams.
The present dime is 18 mm in diameter, 1.35 mm thick, and 2.3 grams.
The penny should be 10 mm in diameter, 1.00 mm thick, and 0.7 grams.
Such a one cent copper coin would have 0.5 cent of copper at $3 per pound.

Then the nickel could be smaller — midway between the dime and penny.
So our smallest change would make sense! ;-)

One Cent!

That’s how much the tax payer has left after socialist entitlement leeches get done sucking up other people’s money (OPM) through the government teat!

Five seconds to pick up a penny? And you wouldn’t stay down to pick up the second, third, fourth, etc... without getting back up again?
