Someoneplease!!buy the man another stock phrase . . .
Teasing his upcoming interview with Joe Sestak on last evening's Hardball, Chris Matthews admitted that Democrats are worried that Dem PA senatorial candidate Joe Sestak isn't "ready for prime time."
When Sestak later appeared, he demonstrated just why Dems are so worried. The leaden, formulaic Sestak used the trite "at the end of the day" cliché not once, not thrice, but no fewer than . . . nine times in the course of his interview!

End of the day for Sestak ping to Today show list.
There is another trite and over used phrase - “that being said”. Come on just say “but”!!!
I concur....utterly pathetic! The Tea Party’s across the country are a breath of fresh air over these awful, long in the tooth, blathering politicians. Mr. Sestak, you don’t deserve anyone’s trust. You are not a patriot, you are a self serving politician.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, Omoslem tried to bribe Sestak (and Romanoff), thus committing felonies.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, Omoslem should be impeached for these crimes.
LOL! That’s what I always picture when I hear his name!
Not to defend Sestak, but how many times during an interview does Rudy Giuliani use the phrase, “The reality is...”
It is what it is...
“It is what it is...”
I have always thought it was something else if you know what I am saying but at the end of the day I always enjoy the darkness...you know.
Its Pathetic to think that this mental eunich, Sestak, ever became a Captain, let alone a Three Star Admiral with a full Carrier Group at his command! But then, the DEMORATS not to be outdone, have given Us an Illegitimate KENYAN MORON and Murdering Terrorist as America’s Alleged Commander-In-Chief! Sestak’s Ace in the Hole is that he is running against Toomey, a nice Man, but more suited to be pursuing a career as a Mortician!
Lindsay Graham popularized that term during the Clinton impeachment hearings. I got sick of hearing him say it.
But he DID knock out Arlen (at the end of the day).
You don't have to say anything...the future is understood. Or, what's wrong with "from now on."
The one that Mika loves is "The optics of this are bad..." substituted for "This looks bad." How affected...
This a-hole was only elected because one of the worst dirty tricks I've ever seen in politics. a "friendly" FBI agent conducted a very noisy, public raid on Curt Welson's house two weeks before the election. No charges were ever filed, or any announcement of what the "investigation" was about ever made public.
Thanks for some history on that....I hear “at the end of the day” muttered by media talking heads and politicians all the time....I’m sick of it.
Let me be clear - anyone using the expression “at the end of the day” should be beaten with sticks.
One has to look at when he made a lot of that rank. He worked at the NSC with Sandy Berger. It was Berger's people that backed him for his congressional race.
Sestak is a notorious tool to his suboordinates. It is what got him fired from his last Navy command. I wonder if that transcends to people that don't work for him? It might be enlightening to set him off with media around.
McAuliffe was the one you could count on using that phrase ad nauseum.
A guy in our office used “at the and of the day” and “it is what it is” ALL the time.
The one that I dislike is “in terms of”.
