Louisiana's Democrat legislature passes law against ObamaCare
The Examiner ^ | June 22, 2010 | Robert Moon

Louisiana has become the first state with a Democrat-controlled legislature to pass the Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act, which bans the federal health insurance mandate at the center of Obama's illegal government health care takeover.

In total, 42 states have now at least introduced or announced the legislation.

The Health Task Force Director for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), Christie Herrera:

"Today, Louisiana sends a clear message to the President and Congress that there is broad, bipartisan opposition to the centerpiece of their health reform agenda."

Louisiana understands Congress has overstepped its Constitutional boundaries since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically list regulating health care as an enumerated power.

I’m a Louisiana resident. Does this mean that I’m exempt from Obamacare?

Aw come on Louisiana! Barry and the Dems are showing such great management skills right there in the Gulf, WHY wouldn’t you want them in charge of your healthcare??

Seriously. If you get sick, an attorney will be dispatched and about 59 days later you might actually hear some vague policy related stuff really start to kick in. Why, at your memorial service your family will just brag about how well Capt. Kickass took charge. Yes, that HHS committee fought tooth and nail with the IRS subcommittee and Healthcare Czar to ensure that you had all the right documentation and approvals so that you were finally cleared to get in line to see a Dr. Had it not been for the two year wait (those illegals needed to see a Doctor too!) who knows, you probably could even been diagnosed.

I wonder how many states have actually passed such legislation since 42 states have either passed, or introduced their own form...

What a vulgar attempt by this administration to sneak up on health insurace ruination from simple healthcare ruination!!!

The thing that really makes it vulgar is the fact that everybody knows what they're trying to do with this, yet CONgress and the Administration act like they think Americans will just knuckle under since they bought enough votes to pass it and sign it.

A real stomach turner is the PBS "Frontline" program's recent storyline on the passage of this puke legislation in spite of the people's thwarted attempts to "Kill The Bill!!!"

You can opt out of Obamacare if you so choose.

You can't opt out of paying the taxes for Obamacare.

Sorry, be we need your money. So pay your taxes and have a nice day.

What disturbs me about the Rolling Stone article is it states that Gen. McChrystal voted for obama to become his boss.
Granted there wasn’t much of a choice but anything was better
than the obama choice.....!

I don’t agree. Southern Democrats are slightly to the right of Northeastern Republicans.

Forty-two States either WIP, or have voted against it one way or the other. I think it’s dead Jim.

Sadly, NC is one of the remaining eight that are loyal to the One. Perdue has no problems with Obamacare.

I would say YES, as long as the Louisiana legislature & executive branch continue to stand strong, even in the face of a "federal appeal court" decision that would most likely back 0bozo & the federal gubmint. At that time all the states that have filed lawsuits against BO deathcare, need to respond with a resounding E'ff U to the court and to 0b0z0 and simply declare that their state will ignore & disregard any federal court ruling against the state's legislative actions.

You can't opt out of paying the taxes for Obamacare.

If everybody would stop filing a return and sending in checks on April 15th we could essentially shut their asses down.

All we need is a spark to start a forest fire!

No, we wouldn't. They get the money shortly after wage earners earn it, via tax witholdings. The self employed file quarterly returns.
