Inhofe Will Fight Against Military Abortions

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) believes there’s still a chance that a recent amendment allowing abortions at military hospitals won’t become law.

Last month, the Senate Armed Services Committee passed an amendment by Sen. Roland Burris (D.-Ill.) that alters the current ban on performing abortions in military facilities. The amendment—part of the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act—makes two changes to the current U.S. code: First, it eliminates the phrase “restriction on use of funds” in the section which says the Defense Department can’t use funds to perform abortions except for the life of the mother. Second, it strikes the provision that refuses abortions on DOD facilities at all, except for rape, incest, or the life of the mother.

Inhofe, who sits on the committee, called Burris’ attempt the “extreme” of a pro-abortion effort. But he said that since the House did not have any language on the issue, the amendment becomes a “conferenceable” item—meaning any differences in the two bills will have to be reconciled in a House/Senate conference.

Inhofe was confident about the debate in conference, should the provision make it that far.

“I think we’ll be able to defeat this,” Inhofe said.

There is no entity, organization, or group that Evil will not try to impose itself on.

The left is characterized by its “infectivism” - it must infect every healthy aspect of our society with its evil.

Military doctors don't want to abort babies. In fact, most doctors "from sea to shining sea" don't want to: almost 90% of American counties now have no professional abortionist, and med students by and large, decline to voluntarily learn this gruesome trade. The average age of abortion "doctors" in the U.S. is 60+.

That's the good news.

But stay alert. I predict Obama's next moves, after mandating military abortions (and making sure baby-disposal IS covered by AbortiCare) will be:

(1) offering free tuition and generous subsidies for "under-represented" med students who agree to do abortions --- this could certainly include importing willing meatcutter-trainees from other countries ---and

(2) making it legal for non-MD's -- I'm talking about RN's, PA's, heck, even veterinarians --- to do abortions.

When (I said when) that happens, I'm organizing the torches and pitchforks.

I have a relative that's involved in "medical students for choice" that is pushing a new "jihad" to encourage more "doctors" to pursue providing late term abortion services. They "martyr" Tiller on their website.

If you have the stomach for it, go to their website - google "medical students for choice".

I’ve posted on this before. Under the Freedom of Choice Act that Odouche supports, healthcare workers (all of us, not just MDs) will be unable to refuse participation in abortions. I will be compelled to give anesthesia for them. As it is right now, I am able under the conscience clause, to refuse to work in those ORs. The day I lose my choice is the day I go to work at the mall. Screw my 7 years of school: I won’t be a part of that.

I'm with you. Let's not let this happen without a fight. Refuse and resist. Every outright, out-loud refusal will inspire more refusals. I am sure there are many people who would support your conscientious objection.

To paraphrase an old slogan, "They can't do abortions with bayonets."
