Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.
Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.
Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

Exactly. The rule of law does not stop Obama and Co. I agree with the above posts in that Salazar will be in comtempt of court. This should get interesting very shortly.
IF he does this...then the whole thing MUST BE fast tracked to the Supreme Court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT the question is, will they have the courage to do what must be done?

People aren’t getting it.
So what if the Supreme Court agrees with the judge? Who, other than God Himself, is going to stop Mr. Golf Shoes from doing whatever he wants, the way he wants, when he wants?
The end game could be a game of chicken, of who blinks first. Even if the interior secretary issues a new moratorium the offshore oil companies will probably continue drilling citing the reversal of the original moratorium and a need for the courts to be the ultimate arbiter. Perhaps at that time, zero will call out the coast guard or navy to enforce the new moratorium and we will have to see if the navy or coast guard is willing to obey an illegal order by the interior secretary or president. Ultimately any military action will have to be signed by our SOS CIC. Even with the new moratorium, a military action by zero would be a violation of the first court order allowing drilling and I would think that this could indeed be grounds for impeachment for gross usurpation of executive power.
I sincerely hope that SCOTUS would act before we see any gunships near any oil rigs, otherwise the judicial branch will have no power.
If only the GOP knew how to play hardball like this. We’d now be living in a Free Republic!

This means they will get really slapped by the judge with a new order and perhaps a ruling of contempt of court.
The first thing that crossed my mind...as in 'Motion for Contempt' filed by the plaintiffs - soon.
Representative Boner? John McWhatshisname? Olympia Snowe...? In a word, no. They are frightened of Obama and they will not have the courage to stop him...

Does this mean Obama is going to demand that Brazil stop their offshore drilling he gave them 10 billion dollars for?

No. Companies that are shut down will not let equipment sit idle. They will move the gulf equipment to Brazil and we will never see them or the jobs they provided again. Somewhere Soros is smiling.

IMHO, those that sit out elections because the candidate is not pure enough and allow the Democrats to control the Congress are enablers and are as much a cause of this mess as the Democrats. When you don’t take sides both sides hate you.
The general attitude in LA is we hope you like freezing this winter because we don’t care. We didn’t put him in office. We voted for the other guy as bad as he was. And the reason he’s around is the same reason O is around.
