Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.
Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.
Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

It's directly out of Atlas Shrugged, Cloward and Piven on steroids. The President creates a shortage of oil here while financing drilling in Brazil, who will be so happy to sell us their oil so we don't have to buy it from those awful Saudis, while socialist Petrobras investor George Soros rakes in the cash and the rest of us pay $10 for a gallon of gas.

This is so cool. The lefties have just been bitch slapped and their coming right back for more. There is no logical, engineering or ecological reason to stop drilling in the Gulf. All Salazar is doing is providing another opportunity for this judge to shine light on the commies in the WH.
Which is why why the man, who would be President, imagines himself 'KING". . . And now, is determined, that we imagine the same.

Salazar, “If needed, we’ll blow up a couple more wells” “That will teach you ignorant peons not to mess with us!”
The rise will not happen that fast.
This order does not shut down existing production, only drilling of new wells.
It will damage our domestic industry for a decade with the impact of lost jobs. But the flow of oil will hardly change at all over the next few months. The production impact is more long term.
Ignore bambi and his fellow thugs.
Ignore them and do the right thing.
How long will it take before the people of the Gulf march on Washington over this planned destruction of their way of life.

Thanks for your reply. Somehow I don't think this Judge is going to take too kindly with their issuing another ban. You'd think that whatever additional facts they have to support their viewpoint should have been included in their argument in the first place, or at least should be used in their appeal. I don't think issuing a whole new ban is going to go over very well. This morning, I see Drudge is reporting that the government shut down the dredging for the sand berms. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department wants them to move them 2 miles farther out. What good they'll do all the way out there is beyond me.
