Interior secretary to issue new drilling ban (Unfreakinbelievable)

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.
Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.
Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

...”Based on this ever-growing evidence”....What growing evidence, Salazar, the same type “evidence” you used when you typed in two paragraphs into an already signed report oil experts that outright said that an oil drilling ban would cause more harm than good?!
Like Glenn Beck said today, the ocean/offshore drilling companies are running 99.9% positive and you jackasses want to bring the American economy to a scretching halt over the 1%.............!? Idiots. =.=

"Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities." Does this mean Obama is going to demand that Brazil stop their offshore drilling he gave them 10 billion dollars for?

Obama has his will. He was granted it when he was elected. The people voted for him and the rest of the Democrats.
That is all that counts.
The only way to change it is to not vote for him and his people in every election from now on.
I am not supporting him or his minions. I don’t like what he is doing just like most everyone here.
To: tobyhill
It shouldn't surprise anyone here that the guy is arrogant enough to believe he could get away with something like this.
I said this last year and I will repeat it again. Before this clown's administration is over, he will cause a constitutional crisis. I hope I'm wrong but I can see it coming. And you can bet your last nickle that this was Obama and not Salazar who is behind this.

It is not Salazar that is behind this. It is Obama. Salazar would not do this if Obama were not for it.
This is just more of Obama’s putting his political agenda above the will and interests of the American people. In this case, it is particularly easy for him to bring the heavy hand of government down on a group of Americans (Gulf Coast folks connected with the oil and gas industry) because they are mostly non-union folks from red states. If they were black members of the United Auto Workers from Michigan, it would be “drill, baby, drill.” Instead, it’s “die, roustabout, die.”

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens if the Republicans take control of at least one branch of Congress. Obama’s power will be dramatically curtained. Obama will then use the executive order like he's a Caesar. Count on it. Nobody has stood up to this POS and it's apparent that he thinks he can do whatever he wants. The man simply doesn't realize he's not a dictator. I know there aren't all that many people here who voted for him but if there are a few then you need to realize just how stupid you were Nov 2008.

I heard the White House was appealing today's decision. How can they legally issue a new drilling ban while appealing a court decision on their previous ban? Doesn't sound right to me.
