This asshole needs to go to prison and experience some hard time. They destroy the economy of the Gulf and then extort money from BP to pay for it.

Obama would just pardon him then tell him to do it again.

I'm sure you're right, the thug would do just that.

“There is a jail cell in LA with Salazar’s name written all over it....”

EXACTLY! The judge should hold Salazar in contempt of court. The White House blatantly disregards the judicial branch . . . talk about a constitutional crisis. The Obama Administration don’t care about the rule of law, and has no shame in expressing its contempt for it.

It will be a dream come true to have Salazar arrested and jailed over his illegal actions. I work in a company active in deepwater Gulf of Mexico activities - he has caused utter chaos in the industry, costing countless millions with this illegal ban.

Nothing like a govt. that leaves everyone guessing.

Nothing like a government that puts everyone (except government workers and unions) out of work and keeps them that way. I'm wondering how the DemocRats are going to spin the million or so new welfare applicants/recipients. They'll probably just blame it on Bush.

The 'man who would be King' has finally made it.

I hope the every citizen of the affected States - as well as the rest of America - get totally and unequivically pi***d off and let Obama, Inc. hear their roar; and feel it's consequences. I hope anyone who voted for this walking insult of a President are now, totally awake.

Obama man will not rest until his damnation of America - and that of those who share 'his leadership - is complete.

Words mean things; and so do names. . .and Barack Hussein Obama is no exception.

That may not be possible, when a particular court (Judge) issues a contempt citation, only he can release it or the contempt may be released by the natural death of the judge.

Being held in contempt by the judge is not appeal-able to any other court although I suspect that political pressure could possibly be applied to the judges supervisors or superiors.

However, in that case, that would constitute an additional contempt order.

Wouldn't it be something if Obama by exercising undue pressure upon a court to overturn it's ruling winds up in contempt itself.

Normal court decisions can be appealed up to the supreme court, but contempt decrees can not.

Do a google search on contempt of court, there is an article about a man imprisoned for 14 years before finally being released. That contempt decree was for failure to follow a judges order.

It would be really something to see the thugs thrown in prison for contempt. However, the powers to be would probably cover their tracks to prevent any possibility of that happening.

“Gulf coast folks yes, but a 6 month moratorium will kill the entire country. People who have jobs will not be able to afford the gas to get there. Truckers will not be able to make deliveries. The price will spike on all energy.”

I suspect you are wrong. The moratorium is not on production. Production from the Gulf will continue, drilling at depths below 500 feet will not. If it is just 6 months, I doubt that overall, worldwide production will suffer much, but admittedly I am no expert.

It’s time for a lot of us to stop asking “how can they” in accordance to the Constitution, or a court ruling, or the will of the people.

It’s obvious that they just “do”, regardless of any laws or previous forms of protocol.

The question must shift to “what are we going to do about it”. Saying “no fair” is not going to matter to these people, and their media will cover for them and demonize anybody questioning the “why”.

Being held in contempt by the judge is not appeal-able to any other court although I suspect that political pressure could possibly be applied to the judges supervisors or superiors.

The Chief Judge of Martin Feldman's district is Sarah Vance, a Clinton appointee.

She's also a native Louisianan, so I guess her influence in this matter is a coin-toss.

And they think the judge has a “conflict of interest” just because he owns $15,000 in oil stocks? But it is NOT a conflict of interest that George Soros owns $900 million dollars in Petrobras stock-which is the Brazilian oil company that the rigs would be sent to?? Are you fricking kidding me?

Obama has his will. He was granted it when he was elected. The people voted for him and the rest of the Democrats.

That is all that counts.

No that is NOT all that counts. You are aware of the three branches of government, aren't you? 0bama's "will" doesn't entitle him to tell the judicial branch to stuff it, my way or the highway.

I read the opinion. Salazar would have to show how each and every deep water rig poses a imminent threat. The judge stated that the blanket moratorium was arbitrary and capricious. I think Salazar would have to give specific information on each rig.

Sorry to tell you this, MPLS, but “O” has appointed “Czars” to take charge of everything imaginable. (With HUGE salaries). They were not approved nor were they appointed nor voted in.....it’s HIS choice - and the three branches of government will sit there with a ‘Pelosi/Reid’ and democrat/liberal Congress, approving everything ‘he’ does. We are now in the bottom of the hole in the outhouse, I fear.
