Maybe somebody will communicate to him how great a sacrifice had already been been provided some 2000 years ago, leaving his act impotent before a perfectly righteous and just God, but how that same sacrifice might be claimed through faith for an even greater life through faith in Him and what He provides.

Hmmm. Before Moses and the Israelites went into the promised land, they were told to kill the inhabitants. Not because they were better than them, but because they practiced child sacrifice. I don’t think the God of the ancient Israelites was any better than the God of Islam. Both were quite violent when it suited them to be.
When it suits is the point. Eye for an eye. Forgiveness provided by the Messhiah, or Savior is only in the Bible. The King who burned his baby alive was forgiven when he repented and tore down the idols and followed the law till he died, but the nation was not forgiven, and did not repent, with invasion occurring 70 years later for reinstating the child sacrifice. Interesting, eh?
