Skip to comments.Texas GOP platform: criminalize gay marriage and ban sodomy, outlaw strip clubs and pornography
Posted on 06/23/2010 8:37:50 AM PDT by Zakeet
The Texas Republican Party gives a whole new meaning to the word conservative.
The GOP there has voted on a platform that would ban oral and anal sex. It also would give jail sentences to anyone who issues a marriage license to a same-sex couple (even though such licenses are already invalid in the state).
We oppose the legalization of sodomy, the platform says. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.
In addition, the platform says that homosexuality tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.
It also states that homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable alternative lifestyle in public schools and family should not be redefined to include homosexual couples.

Perhaps most troubling, we Texans will now miss out on the cultural diversity that comes from events such as the recent Gay Pride Week parade in Boston.
Sigh, that is a goddamn ugly pic but I do prefer my conservatism on the libertarian side. Glad I don’t live in Texas I guess.
God bless Texas.
The stupid party strikes again, of all the other things to tackle.
Funny, I’m not seeing ANYTHING at all on the Texas Republican party website that supports what the author is stating.
Literally, there is NOTHING that shows up on my browser.
Sounds like BS to me. Someone is astro-turfing the Texas GOP. They have no mention of such nonsense as outlawing strip clubs on their website.
Muslim named Aliyah Shahid trashes conservative Christians. Big surprise.
—yep—the country is bankrupt, the border out of control, unchecked “environmental”, etc., regulations by non-elected officials are driving small business to bankrupcy—but the Texas GOP apparently wants a sex inspector in every bedroom-—
It’s BS! See posts 5 & 6.
Outlaw strip clubs? That I think is going a tad to far.
Laws like this were common when I was a boy, I can’t recall anyone ever being prosecuted other then man/boy sex.
—thanks—I sure hope so-—
Maybe this is Aliyah Shahid’s way of contributing to journalistic jihad. I hope a mod pulls this article double quick.
I asked the mods to pull the article but they haven't done so. Would you please ask them to pull it also? Thanks!
I asked them to pull it as well. They must be busy this morning.
Now watch the libs’ heads explode over this- then they will know how WE FEEL when they try to cram their agenda through
These are lies.
I just sent a link to this hit piece to firstname.lastname@example.org. Let’s see if they smack this little fool down.
Although we can’t verify the document’s authenticity. Other than text, I haven’t found any writer or signature of the document. I’m guessing that the document would be signed off by the Texas Party chair if it were in fact a valid document.
I’m glad you don’t either.
This is ridiculous nonsense just to rile people up by playing into the “Republicans are anti-sex” stereotype.
The Texas GOP is not in favor of outlawing strip clubs, pornography and/or specific sexual acts between consenting adults. Good grief ... most Republican lawmakers are married and thus participate in those specific sex acts with regularity.
Houston is pretty much the most strip-club heavy city this side of Las Vegas. There are porn shops all over the place.
Conservatives, generally speaking, don’t care what you do in your bedroom ...
When you get past the cleaned-up for television/movie/MSM facade of the sodomite lifestyle, this is what we are in the process of normalizing.
The Texas GOP should distance themselves from anyone named Perry.
Being that "libertarian for life" Ron Paul doesn't even acknowledge homosexuality as a sin, your "libertarian side" is showing it's true colors (rainbow colors that is).
Since the floods gates of sexual depravity were opened in Texas (based on the SCOTUS ruling in Lawrence vs Texas) it's only appropriate that they start legislation to close the same gates.
And now, for a little history on sodomy laws.
"Prior to 1962, sodomy was a felony in every state..." Link to Sodomy Laws
I hope the Mod's leave the post in place.
Within minutes of its posting on the Internet, the story winds up on Free Republic.
Within minutes of that, the story is exposed as a vile piece of MSM anti-conservative bias -- at best highly misleading and a worst an outright lie.
Isn't the exposure of such outrageous conduct one of the things Freepers do so very well?
And isn't it one of the main reasons why Libtards in general and the MSM in particular consider FR to be a hate site?
I vote for allowing the article to stay as a testament to the power of the new media over the vile monopoly of the old.
Spinner ... is that you in the maroon leggings?
“has voted on”, not “has adopted”.
Particular proposal voted down, it appears. Don’t believe anything the MSM tells you about Texas or Republicans either, “reallypink”.
Does this mean not only I cant get a bj, I cant look at a picture or a video of somebody else getting one? I dont think me and the wife should vacation in the lone star state.
The stupid party strikes again, of all the other things to tackle.
Tell me about it!!!!
I want something done about the border and illegal immigration!!!
What are they thinking?!
We had our chance, but too many pi$$ed it away on a gaff.
Why doesn’t FR pull this article? Complete and utter lies.
I contacted the Texas GOP officials and asked if they have, or have made, any response to the article in the New York Daily News. If they let me know what that response is, I will pass it on, here in this thread later.
Yeah I’m an agnostic/deist, I make no apologies for it. I really don’t care.
Focusing on sodomy with all we’re going through seems to be the height of stupidity IMO.
Protect marriage but the other stuff is just fodder for the comedians.
Now you're talkin' ...
That’s the folks. If the folks in a state want this and vote for it, so long as nothing infringes upon ACTUAL (as opposed to judically made up) Constitutional rights, that’s the way it goes.
The more states can find their own distinctives, the sooner the federal beast will begin feeling the pinch.
Yes, I meant to comment that this sounded seriously fake, but got off first on the liberty issue. Thanks for the link.
The one I proposed was far harsher and demanded the shunning of any who think they “know better” or believe the pernicious lie that “people are basically good”.
It was not taken into consideration, but it was proposed...
Look at the world around you and that will be quickly disproven.
The people who believe the pernicious lie aren’t looking at the world around them - they want to believe THEMSELVES to be “good people”,
so they often espouse ideologies that affirm their own “goodness”.
These people are liberals.
“Texas GOP platform: criminalize gay marriage and ban sodomy, outlaw strip clubs and pornography”
If that is what the GOP voters of Texas want, then I fail to see why this is news.
What is equally appalling are the spectators in the background.
They are just as sick, sick, sick.
And I wonder how many took their children with them to see this.
Good for Texas. I hope the law passes.
At least she's not wearing a burqa.
