A report released Thursday noted high levels of cadmium, aluminum, chromium, lead, silver, mercury and titanium in tissue samples taken by dart gun from nearly 1,000 whales over five years. From polar areas to equatorial waters, the whales ingested pollutants that may have been produced by humans thousands of miles away, the researchers said.

These materials bioaccumulate in smaller species - right down to plankton - and travel wide distances through the food chain.

Not saying there is a link in this case, but there is definitely a possibility. Scientists have been studying these element in conjunction with coal ash pond leaching for years.

I think we've found the culprit.

I find no humor in this situation. The military has been spraying us with “chaff” for years. Chaff is supposedly meant to obscure radar detection but it is filled with aluminum, barium and other heavy metals
What makes the dumazzes think that it doesn’t get into every eco system when it hits the ground?
Good lord, save us all from the smartest people in the room.

Well, we conservatives have been dead on right for the most part. The DDT hysteria has largely been proven to have been nothing but a hoax. Man made global cooling was a hoax. Man made global warming has been proven to be a hoax. Why the hell shouldn’t we be suspicious of this kind of thing now? Hmmm? If it is all really really really true then fine, it is a problem that needs to be addressed. But first, shouldn’t we have enough common sense and critical thinking skills to look at this with a very critical and suspicious eye given the bull manure shoved at us in the past that is alleged to have been the end of us all according to science?
