The Obama administration has been holding behind-the-scenes talks to determine whether the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant legal status on a mass basis to illegal immigrants, according to Fox News.
The source for this bombshell – which could ignite a national uproar given that a majority supports tougher laws against illegals – is an unidentified former Bush administration official who spoke with at least three people involved in those talks.
The issue was raised publicly by eight Republican senators who wrote to the White House on Monday to complain that they had heard the administration was readying a "Plan B" in case a comprehensive immigration reform bill cannot win enough support to clear Congress, according to Fox.
The White House would not confirm or deny the claim. But the former Bush official said the discussions are real.
"The administration at the very minimum is studying legal ways to legalize people without having to go through any congressional debate about it," the source said, calling the senators' claim credible. "Whether somebody pulls the trigger on that, that's another issue."

Obama obey the Constitution or respect citizens? No way.
Impeachment proceedings need to take place as soon as the new Congress is sworn in January 2011.
This would be the end of the Republic, if it came to pass.
If Obama did this by Executive Order he would be impeached.
Finding a “quasi-legal basis” for getting your political will done is how dictatorships are run. There is a clear process for introducing and passing a bill. If he does not have the votes for it that’s his freakin problem. Every time he does something like this he just subverts the system more and more.
If he usurps the will of the people and the legislative authority of Congress in this way, the appropriate remedy is impeachment.
The usurper has bypassed the Constitution, the people, the court, and the congress. Impeach the traitor!

Apparently he is seriously considering this amnesty to get the criminal illegal aliens in the vote. By doing so and in conjunction with recent defiance of a federal judge’s orders he is confirming he will not obey the law, thus demonstrating his total detachment from reality. Such a person as head of state is absolutely what the impeachment procedure is for.
The question is; given the projected composition of the Senate after the election can it be done? How many votes does it take to stop this nut?
If this proceeds and 35 million criminal illegal aliens are "paroled" into the voting booth it is the total usurpation of the Constitutional process and a complete abandonment of the rule of Constitutional law by the current communist administration.
Things will get "ugly."
I disagree. The people will take it back and reverse any decision he makes. I guess I have more faith in our people. We make some dumb decisions at times but we have always come to our senses.

I’m still reeling from the passage of the deathcare bill. Each time they get away with something huge, B.O. and the Dems become emboldened to enact even more unthinkable acts. They will continue until stopped by a force they cannot contend with. I hope that “force” is the 2010 and 2012 elections.
