Someone on Free Republic once said “You probably don’t think you need a belt feed automatic weapon, but you really do”.

I read once that the Branch Davidians in Waco were accused of having anti-tank weapons. Given that they were attacked and a bunch of them burned to death by tanks I'd say the ATF and the FBI made the case that people need anti-tank weapons.
