With the gulf oil spill creating political opportunity, Senate Democrats will begin crafting a sweeping energy bill this week that could include a first-ever, though more modest, cap on global-warming pollution.
Republicans dismiss such a cap-and-trade system as a new tax on households and business — "cap-and-tax," they call it.

You know, I think you are right! I have lost all faith in any politician, left or right (right is my preference). They seem to become benefactors of the lobbyists and care little about the direction of the country. Just look at the Republicans now...even now, some of them think that NOT reducing spending is a good idea!
That said, I hope for a consortium of Republicans that can come together and stop this awful Democrat process of destroying the country a bit at a time... If it is not stopped now, I doubt that any electorate that come in November can do the job.

See, this is why I suspect the BP spill was allowed to happen. How convenient this spill occurs just at the beginning of summer when the heat goes up and now this. Just the same way millions of people were dying everyday because of a lack of insurance and now we hear nothing. Even though Obie care won’t kick in till 2014 somehow all those folks are okay now. It’s all bullshit and frankly really, REALLY pissing me off. I’ve always wondered what it was like to be one of the original Patriots back in the 1700’s. This is Cloward–Piven strategy to the max - as soon as they got into office it was clear - Dim WH & congressional control - thanks to our rinos - they’ve got “healthcare”, wall street, the auto industry, soon “big oil”, cap & tax, card check, amnesty, union pension bail-outs, etc., etc.
