But Japan has a lower crime rate than Switzerland, without significant gun ownership. Switzerland does not have the lowest crime rate in the world.

Switzerland is not the most homogeneous country at all. They are racially homogeneous, but the people fall into 3 main language groups (German, French, Italian) and are divided between Protestantism and Catholicism. I think it's the guns, the work ethic, and a long tradition of republican govt. and respect for individual rights.

Believe me I know.

There are many strange and odd factors at “work” in Japan and not Europe; and the numbers are rising.

For ex Japanese Police do NO forensic investigations at murders; 50% of murderers are caught on the spot while still standing there; and declared insane thus sent to mental hospitals thus “not a crime”

It would take me hours to explain further but believe me Swiss is lower than Japan -— having lived in both, I assure you.

I read a book once that said one of the biggest reasons Hitler did not attempt to invade was because the Swiss had wired all their railway tunnels for demolition. If Hitler invaded they could have cut off his ability to transfer troops and supplies through the mountains to Italy.
