No Sex Please, Were Middle Class By CAMILLE PAGLIA Published: June 25, 2010
WILL women soon have a Viagra of their own? Although a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel recently rejected an application to market the drug flibanserin in the United States for women with low libido, it endorsed the potential benefits and urged further research. Several pharmaceutical companies are reported to be well along in the search for such a drug.

You are spot on. Emotionless sex is empty sex said another way.
Don't forget those shiny/sparkly baubles, they work pretty good also.

Between husband and wife both working jobs, ferrying kids to and from soccer, football, baseball, play dates, ad infinitum, cooking meals, cleaning the home, when is a couple supposed to find the time to just relax, enjoy each others company, and let nature take it's course?
I don't know where Camille gets her information about 'middle class' prudery, but I can definetely tell her she needs to get out more and mingle with the hoi polloi.
Mrs. L and I make it a point to set aside some time once or twice a week that's just for us. Even if it's a bottle of champagne, a movie, and popcorn in bed it's OUR time to do a bit of, ahem, reconnecting as it were.
I know this will shock some on the forum, but sex is an important part of our relationship. One day we'll be laying in some old folks home or hospital sucking in our last breaths and the last thing we want to do is look back at all of the times we could have jumped each others bones but didn't.
You only go around once, folks. But if you do it right, once is enough.
Women want only the number of kids that they can bring to successful adulthood. When times get tight or more expensive fewer kids get born.
You are to funny! Thanks for the laugh!
Um, my post left room for PLENTY of delightful exceptions.
Carry this photo with you at all times. Take it out and look at it when you get the urge, a quick glance will be sufficient....
I'm here to tell you that's ain't true!
See my reply to suzi.
"Spot!" he cried, "you've never done this!"
"Yeah," said the dog, "but I've never had money!"
They need Viagra to have the desire to have sex with guys that need Viagra.
Paglia is the one lib I would like to meet.
As I said, Viagra doesn’t create desire or sex drive if you will, to call a female hormone treatment Viagra is misleading. That was my point.
That is a truism. Do you think that has any effect on a woman’s sex drive?
Ding ding ding ding ding. We have a winner.
Man, that ain’t no anti-viagra. Its a sterilization agent.
“Article is spot on. Paglia is one lib who gets it.”
Perhaps. But, methinks she overanalyzes everything that has to do with sex. That’s why her writing is considered to be provocative and bold.
What if it is a simple matter of all the Boomers getting older? There is a natural decline in just about everything as one ages, including interest in sex. Now, that is not true of everyone, of course, so please don’t post about all the 70-something hotties you know. Whether people choose to accpet it or not, gray hair and wrinkles are not the only things that happen as we age. No matter how hard we try to stop the changes that come with age (or medical science tries), there is no fountain of youth that will restore our bodies to a youthful state.
One doctor who was asked about this issue had the honesty to say so. As women go through menopause and fertility ends, he said, there is a distinct decline in a woman’s sexual desire. It’s a natual process; not a disease.
Sex drive interesting, sexual practices maybe. It would be an interesting GGG topic if any of the Gods of History, Sunken_Civ and Blam are interested.
And I would say further that this phenomenon unique to women. At a deep deep level a man’s desire to procreate never goes away.
