A California "sanctuary city" has fallen victim to illegal immigration going bankrupt and firing all of its public employees, Jerome Corsi's Red Alert reports.
The city of Maywood, Calif., hit the budget wall after it decided not only to be a sanctuary city, but to be a completely "safe haven" for illegal aliens seeking protection from deportation.
"Predictably, mainstream media newspapers, including the Financial Times in London, chose to present Maywood as a victim to the recession, rather than to tell the whole story that Maywood fell victim to illegal immigration," Corsi wrote.
"Crushed by the recession and falling tax revenues, the city is disbanding the police force and firing all public sector employees," Matthew Garrahan wrote in the Financial Times, never mentioning that illegal immigration was the problem.
Maywood is a small town comprising only about 1.2 square miles on the southern border of Los Angeles. More than 96 percent of its residents are Hispanic. The town's official population is listed at 29,000 but may be nearly 45,000 when illegal aliens living in Maywood are counted.

Utopia.
BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA! HEEEEE HEEEE HOOOOO HOOOOOO HAHAHAHAHHA!
Dios mio!
Outstanding!
We need more of this!
I’ll second that.

Maywood, CA, 2006
Sheesh...
All they had to do was raise taxes...
Well..this will be interesting....see what kind of He**hole this turns into....Sanctuary Cities will be the new Ghettos. Way to go American Democrats.....
“Sheesh...
All they had to do was raise taxes...”
Who are they going to tax and for what?
They can’t raise property taxes, they are set by law and Prop. #13.
Can’t get any from sales tax, all the illegals will go to the next city, less than a half mile away for purchases.
Maywood has been the equivalent of a human sewer for 50 years so who cares!
The town should be renamed:
Maywoodn’t
Allow me to introduce the mayor.. Mr. Mo Ron.
It’s a sh*thole, believe me. I usually have business in Commerce CA which is an oasis of civility and Maywood is one of the last cities you’ll pass by heading there on a major freeway. Think Tijuana..
sounds like a good way to “concentrate” the invaders. I love it when a plan comes together.
Hispanics are of Europeon heritage....what, they all want to go back to Spain?
Somebody might want to inform those maggots that Spanish is a European language and that Spain is part of Europe. I’ve got a hell of a lot of Indian friends who wouldn’t mind telling those bozos that this is not THEIR continent. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Especially when there is no geography and history put into it.

San Carlos (bay area) just now voted a few minutes ago to disband their police department and contract it out.

I visited Tijuana on business some few years ago, and I quickly came to understand from various chit-chat that Mexicans do not see themselves as "Hispanic". Somehow, the common people identify with the indigenous Indians, whatever their exact heritage might be. In fact, there is a Mexican elite, if I understand correctly, with Spanish roots, and the commoners see themeselves in opposition to them. I'm kind of vague on the whole thing, but there's a lot going on there.

In his books about Mexico and Texas, James Michener spoke of this distinction, from the earliest Spanish colonial times in Mexico.
The highest caste were those born in Spain.
Next were pureblooded Spaniards, born in Mexico.
Next were those of mixed Spanish and Indian blood.
Lowest caste were native Indians.
You are refering to the present day remnant of that hierarchy.
Throughout Latin America are others with fairly pure European origins; Italians, Portugese (Brazil), Germans, English, etc.
Here and there will be found “Jorge Schmidts” and “Hans Ramirez.” Lotsa Italians in Argentina.
In Mexico the pure Indians remain at the bottom, for the most part.
I demand all those fools go back to Siberia!! After all, they are the original invaders.
Will they still defend the illegal invasion even after this?
“Will they still defend the illegal invasion even after this?”
You betcha they will. This encourages them all the more.
Ones that go bankrupt and stop giving free stuff might actually see the illegals search for greener pastures.
But were is all the economic wealth these new “workers” are suppose to generate? Bwaaahhhh, lol
But (where) is all the economic wealth these new workers are suppose to generate? Bwaaahhhh, lol
Well, they should turn their attention to Mexico City and try to take the government away from the white elite that has misruled them since 1820.
And that, ladies and gents, is how it is done and will continue to be done.
Look for Maywoods in the future. A bloodless, relatively speaking, invasion and conquista.
From what I can gather by talking to one of the Spanish “elite” of Mexico’s ruling class, those of pure Spanish blood(no Indian blood) see themselves as far and above the ordinary Mexicans and even get pissed if you call them Mexican. This was from a woman I dated briefly a few years ago.
Ahh well; stupid is as stupid does, I suppose.
Austin is a sanctuary city ping.
Sounds to me as if they are running away from a racist society, coming to the US, and calling us racist. Maybe they need to fix their own Country.
Today, I try to avoid going into Austin if at all possible--and I try not to spend any more money than I have to there. T hat's not easy to avoid as it's hard to know where Lakeway stops and Oak Hill or some other little suburb starts, and then you're in Austin and don't know it---LOL!
We spend most of our money in Cedar Park and Leander. Gas is usually $.10 - .15 cheaper in those cities than Austin. I hate Austin traffic anyway, but have to deal with it four days a week.
There are some good things about being retired—LOL! Not having to get in rush hour traffic is one of them!
The way it is going here, I may be retiring sooner than later. The politics in the military are sickening.
Spaniards are of European heritage. The mestizo's from mexico are mostly indian with a little spanish thrown in, so they're not european descent. In any case they never owned most of the southwest because they couldn't defeat the Apache tribes that actually did own most of eastern Arizona, western New Mexico, and northwestern Texas. They may have owned california for a while before we took it away from them in 1848.
Ping!
I think it’s funny that thru the years they keep changing what they are called. When I was a kid they were called Mexicans. Later it was Chicanos, Latinos, now Hispanics (may have been something else in between, who can keep up). The problem is, this is a people who are not really a people. Just folks who come from some country that speaks Spanish, that is it. They are not all the same *race*. But, politicians want to lump them together because they have figured out that people are stupid, and if you can divide them into a voting block you can lead them around by the nose.
San Carlos used to be a really nice city. Very sad.
San Carlos used to be a really nice city. Very sad.
I’m not a believer in Karma, but stupidity does tend to be it’s own reward.
There is a lot of racism south of the border. Americans have done a tremendous job of melding into a people. Most other countries have not. That is why it always puzzles me that we allow race pimps to agitate and make a living here on the backs of minorities by convincing them how bad off they are here. They should go live elsewhere and see what the rest of the world is like in that regard.
The Mexican (American) kids I grew up with were not the same kids I taught several years ago in TX schools tho. They were not much different than I was. The news kids coming in come from less educated families, with a totally different attitude. Lots of my friends from back then had Dads who owned businesses. They would have slapped their kids silly if they even thought of being gang bangers.
