Thanks to President Obama and the soon-to-be-reimposed drilling moratorium, our loss is becoming West Africa’s gain.

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)–Executives from oil and gas companies on Monday concluded an hour-long meeting with U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar without securing promises from the government to lift a deepwater-drilling moratorium imposed after a disastrous BP PLC (BP) oil spill…

the anger is not in the White House- sending jobs and industry to Africa and demanding that BP pay the laid off US workers- will seem like a win-win for this tribe

Actually good news for West Texas. It’s a very friendly place for on-shore drilling. Can’t drill deep water, drill more shallow water and on-shore.

Bad news for deep water drilling in US.

You’re right - a Fed judge blocked it. But the Obaby administration is appealing, and the oil co’s don’t want to wait around for it to play out in the courts.

Barring BP from further Gulf drilling would be fitting and make sense. Their safety is clearly inadequate. Barring Exxon or the other companies that haven’t had a problem is wrong.

95% of Americans don’tt even know this is happening.

And for a lrage precentage of those, you would need to draw them a picture - in crayon - for them to understand it and the ramifications.

...but that would mean he'd move back...

...here...

...to Colorado.

And I really don't want him here...nor does most of this state.

The anger?? The liberals I know are still making fun of "drill baby drill" in their own alinsky-ish way. Heads up their asses as they allow politics to make decisions for them.

The Dems will simply gas up without paying state & fed taxes, as they did @ the Colorado 0bama coronation:

“The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention has used the city’s gas pumps to fill up and apparently avoided paying state and federal fuel taxes.”

http://slapstickpolitics.blogspot.com/2008/07/dnc-gas-tax-break.html

The article says the DNC was going to pay back what they stole. Who the H3LL knows.

The rental rate on those rigs run around $500,000 per day. Moratorium on/ moratorium off/ now it is going to get tied up in the courts. The lawyers could keep this tied up for years. Our tax dollars pay the government lawyers who are gumming up the business that puts us out of work.
The rig owners/renters aren’t going to sit around until this gets settled. The rigs are going to be moved to west Africa, South China Sea and to Brazil. Brazil is the big hotspot for exploration now. And obama gave Brazil something like 2 Billion of our tax money to assist in their exploration. The cost to move a rig is enormous and once the rigs are moved, they won’t be moved back unless there is an equally enormous incentive. Given who is squatting in the White house now, not happening.
This is going to have serious negative effects on us for a very long time.

The stay against the administration is still in place. And they can’t appeal in time, as the Court of Appeals goes on a month-long summer vacation next week.

Yep. Once Obama, and BiteMe is removed for willful misfeasance, then it will be up to the new administration to coax back the rigs. A powrful lever to restoring US production overall, and returning rigs, would be tariffing foreign oil imports. Combined with an end to U.S. corporate income taxes, that should do the trick.

This was the plan all along.

Where will the jobs go?

Zimbabwe?
Darfur?

And why not?

Obama and the Communists MUST destroy the USofA . . . There MUST BE NO Liberty and Property attached to the USofA.

And the bottom feeders with their hands out will be the first to die of starvation and illness. Yet they’re too ignorant to realize how they’re pwned by Obama and the black community organizers.

The problem with communism is that it relies upon people who are immune to the base aspects of human nature(sloth, greed, ignorance, ineptitude).

Capitalism for all it’s ills seems to be designed with those basic human parameters in mind.

“as the Court of Appeals goes on a month-long summer vacation next week.”

Can’t find it right now, but earlier today I read that the appeal was going to be heard on the 6th (or maybe the 8th.)

Maybe emergencies can put a delay on a vacation...

The job of a business is to make money by providing a good product or service. If they can’t do it here, they’ll do it elsewhere.

Why, why, why do people like Obama think you can do things like this to people and still expect them to provide their product or service?
