Paying President's 'Price On Carbon'
IBD Editorials ^ | June 29, 2010 | Investors Business Daily staff

Energy Policy: The administration plans to use sleight-of-hand politics to sneak through an economy-killing tax on energy as necessary to save the Earth. Make no mistake: Cap-and-trade is a tax every American will pay in every aspect of his or her life.

IBD Exclusive Series: American Freedom And Prosperity Under Attack
Cap-and-trade is like Jason Voorhees of the "Friday the 13th" movie series. Just when you think you've killed it, it comes back.

Exposures of fraud in the climate science used to justify it seemed to doom its chances as the economy soured and prospective costs seemed prohibitive. Then the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico happened, and images of oil-covered pelicans filled our TV screens. It was, as White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has put it, a crisis too good to waste.

So President Obama made his first televised speech from the Oval Office, a forum usually devoted to matters of state and wars, to rail against fossil fuels, to say we needed to end our dependence on them and to push for comprehensive energy legislation such as the Waxman-Markey bill that passed the House of Representatives.

Probably the reason he has let the BP spill continue for months without using any of the skimmers used everywhere else in the world.

Not quite. Those already living on public assistance will need to have their share paid by the rest. The taxpayers will get a double whammy, with their own household expenses going up, and their taxes to cover those same costs for the welfare state.

And, of course, we will not know what it does until it is passed.

Ask your Congressman this;
Since we are trying to become independent from foreign oil, why would we want to become dependent on foreign carbon credits?

I can see it coming, can you? A CARBON CARTEL.

Tell congress set your CO2 free and declare CO2 a non pollutant.

I think this can accurately be described as a tax on productivity. It throws sand into the gears of the American Engine.

To avoid this tax, produce nothing, contribute nothing, become a parasite. Perhaps you won’t live long enough to see the long term consequences for a nation full of people acting similarly.

Not Going to happen, the Senate refused to assert authority over the Co2 when Obama gave control of the issue to the EPA.

It's no coincidence they're based in Chicago.

“Ever heard of CCX?”

LOL, Yup I have. Written one “H” of a lot of comments about CCX, and ECX being the purpose of Obama’s criminal enablers backing him for POTUS.

Maybe, but I doubt we will be able to break a filibuster, that would be required to take Co2 out of EPA's hands. Not sure if Congress could withhold funds or even if that would affect the EPA authority.

-So where is this Crap & Trade tax bill at in Congress, anyway? More closed door bullshit like the health care takeover, with all sorts of kickbacks and payoffs?
Can someone give me the latest on this scam? Thanks.
