Happy Birthday to Dr. Sowell. My favorite book by him is, A Conflict of Visions. The intelligence that comes from every sentence just bowls you over.

I’d be hard put to name a person, other than my parents, who has had more influence on my life and education. I first discovered him in “Forbes,” around 1990.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Sowell.

If there were one person in the world I could have lunch with, it’d be Dr. Sowell... except I’d be too overwhelmed to be able to speak a word.

As long as we're hiring non-judges for the supreme court why not:

Sowell for SCOTUS

Good lord...I had no idea.

When he goes there will be a further dearth of genuine black conservatives.

A Conflict of Visions, and the other one I like is The Quest for Cosmic Justice. I was about 25 when I read it and it had a huge impact on my thinking. Thomas Sowell was a really important early influence for me.
