Pharaoh Obama? - ALAN KEYES

“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”

-- George S. Patton

“But the greatest insult to our troops in the field, and to the officers who lead them, may be a new battlefield medal designed by the Obama team. It is called the Courageous Restraint Medal and is awarded to soldiers and marines who demonstrate uncommon restraint in combat by not firing their weapons even when they feel threatened by the enemy. Would we be surprised to learn that the preponderance of these medals were awarded posthumously? McChrystal must have found that to be an insanity.”

-- Paul Hollrah, The General and the Community Organizer

The idea for a Courageous Restraint Medal reportedly came from British Maj. Gen. Nick Carter. It apparently never progressed beyond the conceptual state. It was however described by a spokesman for Gen. McChrystal as an “idea consistent with our approach...”

We can rightly admire the hardy professional discipline of men and women who dutifully follow rules of engagement that wantonly endanger their lives. But like the stirring but infamous “Charge of the Light Brigade” the spectacle of their sacrifice inspires nothing but angry contempt for the military and civilian authorities incompetent or callous enough to require that they throw their lives away. What a far cry from the strategic clarity with which WWII’s General Patton inspired his troops. It was clear that for him the objective is not to lose their lives, but to gain the victory that secures our just and peaceful way of life.

IF Barack Obama is in fact an American citizen then he is a traitor. If it turns out that he is not, as has been suggested by some, then he is probably the most effective covert political operator in the history of mankind.

I’ve believed for some time that Obama is deliberately sending Americans to Afghanistan to die, setting up circumstances to guarantee this outcome. This is all part of a larger plan to destroy as much as possible of American society. He has no concerns about how many die or suffer.

That is NOT the country I would have expected to come up with such a pu##y award.

Oh wait, that would be the "Noble Capitulation" medal, awarded for having located the highest-ranking enemy to whom surrender can be made.

Courageous Restraint Medal -- what do you expect from a society which has made just showing up for the competition a trophy-worthy achievement?.

If the Brits came up with it perhaps it should be called the Neville Chamberlain Courageous Restraint Medal.

Soldiers who earn this medal will most likely have it awarded posthumously

Yes, but I asked someone to LIE to me and tell me it was satire - NOT confirm what I could read for myself!!

When I first heard of the Courageous Restraint Medal, I thought it was satire. To conceive of awarding such a decoration is to indicate that something other than defeating the enemy is the objective.

As General Mac Arthur said so eloquently, there is no substitute for victory — nothing less than that is worthy of the sacrifices being asked.

In war, there are only three options: defeat, victory or a continuation of war. With victory taken away as an object, only the other two remain, which is an utter disgrace.
