New Black Panthers meet, demonstrate

Crowds chanted and marched, but the crowd was well behaved as the New Black Panthers demonstrated at Wise Street Park Monday night.

Between 200 and 300 residents, mostly women and children from the Wise Street area, gathered at the town meeting along with Newberry police, Sheriff’s deputies, S.C. Highway Patrol troopers and S.C. Law Enforcement Division agents.

Sheriff Lee Foster says law enforcement did not know about the planned meeting until they were forwarded an e-mail by The Newberry Observer Monday morning.

“Anytime someone is dragged, it is a hate crime and the Sheriff needs to tell it like it is,“ said Leader of the Black Lawyers for Justice and the New Black Panther Party Malik Zulu Shabazz.

Shabazz claims there were both Confederate and Rebel flags in the home of Gregory Collins, who is accused of killing Hill and then dragging his body over 10 miles. The group also allege that Collins has white supremacist tattoos and an arsenal of weapons.

Things must be a little slow nationally in the race hustling business for Mr. Malik Zulu Shabazz to come to this little quiet town. The crime didn't even happen in Newberry township but in a rural part of the county 15 miles away. Word is that the cops think that the perp (white) and the victim (black) were "drinkin' and druggin' buddies."

The leader also told the men in the crowd that if they had a gun they needed to “defend the community against white supremacy on the rampage.“

I will never understand why the leaders in the black community don't take these vile worthless race baiting vermin and beat them about the head and demand they leave.

It was plain from the article there are good relationships within the black community and the police force.

The New and Improved Black Panthers apparently want to string this thing out, stir the pot see what happens. Newberry is 60/35/5 white/black/other(Hispanic), about as easy-going a place as exists in the True South. Race relations while not perfect beat the heck out of what exists in northern cities. Many blacks here are Southern to the core, farm and hunt, drive pick-ups and may view Mr. Zulu Shabazz with curiosity mostly. I honestly don’t think Chief Jackie and Sheriff Lee are going to need a whole lot of help, unless the New and Improved can bus in significant numbers (like more than 50).

The economy is in pieces, the Middle East is about to go up in flames, the biggest oil spill in the history of our country is still messing up the ocean, and it’s likely that we’re going to get hit by a terrorist. Russian spies are discovered and go figure, these idiots are worried about RACE.

If the Chinese take over as a world power, they will likely end up getting on the receiving end of REAL racism, and then where will they be? The Chinese don’t have any racial baggage and a tremendous amount of racial pride. And they don’t like people like these dolt Panthers starting trouble.

You would think they would worry about more concrete problems.
