hots fired at City Hall prompt Texas AG to ask for more troops on border

EL PASO – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today demanded that President Obama send more troops to the Texas-Mexico border and used the shots that hit El Paso City Hall as an example of increased violence on the border.

Abbott said in a letter that the seven shots that hit City Hall in El Paso were an example of the violence that is plaguing the border area and that sending 1,200 National Guard soldiers to the entire U.S.-Mexico border is not enough

Screw ZeroBama and the feds, deputize a few thousand of us and we'll secure the border. Better yet, put a bounty on ‘em.

Yeah, we’re on our own with a shooting war 300 miles from Houston, and inside the city of El Paso, not to mention the Rio Grande Valley.

Hey Mexico!
Effective immediately, the U.S. will neutralize all cross-border threats with any force necessary. We will pursue any and all perceived threats to the point of resolution.
The National Parks in Arizona will be cleared of all illegal activity and armed camps will be treated as a foreign invading force, and dealt with accordingly.
.....
Well....if the Commander in Chief was on America’s side, that is what would happen!

“EL PASO – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today demanded that President Obama send more troops to the Texas-Mexico border and used the shots that hit El Paso City Hall as an example of increased violence on the border.”

Does not Texas have a National Guard under the command of the governor that can protect the border?

What about the Texas Rangers?

Call up a citizens’ militia if necessary.

Folks, please educate me.

The federal government isn’t going to help — they’re doing all they can to ERASE the “border”.

It’s time for self-help for the states.

If they want this problem fixed, they’re going to have to do it themselves.

The worst that can happen is that the Obammunists will try to stop them — and that includes sending federal troops to PREVENT the border states from policing and protecting their own borders.

Keep “the federals” OUT. Protect it yourselves!

According to Wikipedia:

National Guard units can be mobilized for active duty to supplement regular armed forces during times of war or national emergency declared by Congress[citation needed], the President[15] or the Secretary of Defense[16]. They can also be activated for service in their respective states upon declaration of a state of emergency by the governor of the state or territory in which they serve; in the case of Washington DC, the Commanding General.

So there is a reasonably high threshold of activation by the governor. It's not impossible. But politically it probably requires a hostile contact of considerable size.
