SNIPPET: "U.S. counterterrorism officials have linked one of the nation's most wanted terrorists to last year's thwarted plot to bomb the New York City subway system, authorities said Wednesday.

Current and former counterterrorism officials said top al-Qaida operative Adnan Shukrijumah met with one of the would-be suicide bombers in a plot that Attorney General Eric Holder called one of the most dangerous since the 9/11 terror attacks."

Cindy, Fox just reported on this story. James Carafano told Martha that this is the story of the decade if it turns out to be true.

But that still does not mean this was terrorism or that there are extremists motivated by their version of Islam. < /nhs >

If you think that Obambi's muddled behavior in not cleaning up the Gulf is a problem, just think of his incompetance and lack of action in cleaning up an area after a "dirty" (nuclear) bomb detonation could be like.

Our country needs leadership, not this educrat.

Al-Quaeda should officially change it's name to "The New Black Panthers" and the entire Justice Department will leave them alone!

Think of all the ObamaCorps/SEIU jobs they could then participate in:

community organizer,

census worker,

polling booth monitor,

BP Slush Fund distributor,

Border Welcoming Agent,

...

On the eve of the eight year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, an FBI informant who infiltrated alleged terrorist cells in the U.S. tells ABC News the FBI missed a chance to stop the al Qaeda plot because they focused more on undercover stings than on the man who would later become known as 9/11 ringleader Mohammed Atta.

Brian Ross reports on the undercover agent in al Qaeda.

In an exclusive interview to be broadcast tonight on ABC World News with Charles Gibson and Nightline, former undercover operative Elie Assaad says he spotted and became suspicious of Atta in early 2001, when he was sent by the FBI to infiltrate a small mosque outside Miami.

Atta was there with Adnan Shukrujuman, an al Qaeda fugitive who now has a $5 million U.S. reward on his head. "There was something wrong with these guys," Assaad, a 36-year-old Catholic native of Lebanon who pretended to be an Islamic extremist, says.......

el-Shukrijumah [Jr.] left Saudi Arabia when he was about 11, spent most of his time in FL and Trinidad/Tobago ... his father is, or was, an imam in Trinidad, Brooklyn and then Miramar Florida. In connection to the Brooklyn mosque are individuals involved with the 1996 NY Tunnel/UN/Landmark plot. His FL mosque members are mostly Trinidadian; in connection to that mosque are individuals the son had ties to, people who were planning to blow up FL power stations. Father and son probably have a few Venezuelan connections.

Yemen connection, like bin Laden, Anwar al Aulaki of the Falls Church VA cell, like the Christmas "undy bomber" Abdul Mutallab, and the Ft Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan:
Shukrijumah, though born in Saudi Arabia, is believed to be a citizen of Yemen. His ethnic heritage is part Yemeni, part Guyanese. He has some family in Guyana and is believed to have a passport from Guyana. He may also have a Saudi, Canadian or Trinidad passport, the release said. El Shukrijumah is described as 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, weighing 132 pounds or more, with a Mediterranean complexion, black hair, black eyes and, at times, a beard. His aliases include: Adnan G. El Shukri Jumah, Abu Arif, Ja'far Al-Tayar, Jaffar Al-Tayyar, Jafar Tayar and Jaafar Al-Tayyar, the FBI said. -- "Link between wanted Saudi man and 'dirty bomb' suspect? : Wanted man described as 'serious player'," From Kelli Arena and Kevin Bohn, CNN Washington Bureau, Saturday, March 22, 2003 , http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/03/22/fbi.terror.search/.

DAMN! That monster’s been in the back of my brain
for over 6 years, since he was spotted in Tampa
when I lived there. Gives me such creeps and
shivers.

Just checked my Yahoo alerts, and I have at
least 4 for him. And look at DOJ’s position

Al Qaeda Operative Linked To Failed Subway Terror Plot

##

Counterterrorism officials say that “an elusive and feared senior Qaeda operative” met with one of the suspects in last fall’s thwarted subway terror plot.

According to the AP, “Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn have named Shukrijumah in a draft terrorism indictment,

***but yesterday the Justice Department was still discussing whether to cite his role. Some officials feared that the extra attention might hinder efforts to capture him.”

In September, the federal and local authorities raided homes in Queens, due to concerns of a Madrid-style terror attack. The feds later charged Najibullah Zazi, a former Queens resident and lower Manhattan coffee vendor, and two of his associates, with terrorism.

Zazi admitted ties to Al Qaeda and, earlier this year, pleaded guilty to a “martyrdom” plan for suicide bombings on numerous subway lines.

According to the Times, “The elusive senior Qaeda figure with whom Mr. Zazi had contact is the Saudi-born Adnan G. el-Shukrijumah, 34, long described by law enforcement officials as a hardened operative who was all the more feared because of his fluency in English and knowledge of New York City...

The State Department offered a reward of up to $5 million several years ago for information leading directly to the capture of Mr. Shukrijumah, but he has managed to avoid capture since the F.B.I. issued an alert for him in 2003.

Mr. Shukrijumah was identified as a senior terrorism figure by Khalid Shaikh Mohammed during his intensive interrogation, and concern about him grew with the discovery that he had received flight training in the United States about the same time as the 9/11 hijackers.

A bulletin warning that he might try to cross American borders with a Saudi, Canadian or Trinidadian passport was issued in 2003.”

All roads lead to Fitgerald & Chicago... and to "progressive defense attnys" linked to Lynne Stewart... :

1999 : (EL SHUKRIJUMAH {see FL CELL, NAJIBULLAH ZAZI, JOSE PADILLA} ARRANGES FUNDRAISERS FOR GLOBAL RELIEF FUND {see GRF, CHICAGO CELL/BRIDEVIEW CELL, HAMAS, US ATTNY/PROSECUTOR "FITZMAS" FITZGERALD}, ALLEGEDLY TO HELP REFUGESS IN BOSNIA) In 1999, Adnan [Gulshair El'Shukri-jumah] organized garage sales and car washes to raise money for Muslim refugees of the war in Bosnia. ''I remember him telling me once that he felt like those people were his family too,'' his mother said. At the time, his family said, neither they nor Adnan were aware that the charity they supported -- Global Relief Fund -- was allegedly involved in funding terrorist organizations. About the same time, the family befriended a man named Imran Farooq Mandhai -- who later would become the genesis of the FBI's suspicions about Adnan. Mandhai, now serving nearly 12 years in prison for plotting to blow up power plants and other South Florida facilities, first approached Gulshair's father for spiritual leadership. The family described him as a follower of little intellect but lovable. -- "FBI sees terror; family sees good son Ex-resident of Miramar being sought in terror case ," BY DAVID KIDWELL AND LARRY LEBOWITZ (Natalie McNeal contributed), The Miami Herald, 03/31/2003
