I agree with Obama. We should build a 40 foot high wall instead, from the coast of California to the Gulf of Mexico.....1,200 miles long. The border should also be patrolled by active duty Army and Marine Corps.
Seems to me that it has been proven in the past that fences work - IT WAS CALLED THE BERLIN WALL !!! But, it actually extended for hundreds of miles ...

If the GOP is afraid of the “Latino” reaction to opposing amnesty they should be crapping their collective pants about the reaction of their base if they don’t.
In the mid 70’s I saw illegals coming into Shenandoah Co Va. They were Mexican, humble and under the radar. A few of them married local girls to stay in the country. But most of them went home after the apples were picked. They caused no trouble so we let them do their work that we did not want and said nothing.
How I wish we could have those days back and raise a stink in a time that would have sent those fellows packing. I just took a visit home last week and found those humble fellows now quite brazen. The murder rate for the county is way up from the zero of years gone by. They have their own bars and restaurants.
They have ruined the culture and infiltrated things that do not belong to them. They treat my home county like it was their own spawning their legal brats (who can someday become president) meanwhile getting away with murder. I wish that the valley could be purged of every last illegal living there. But sadly we missed our last chance about 20 years ago.

They say this because they have no intention of securing the border. They will pass amnesty and then immediately defund any new border security measures, and privately laugh at the Republicans for falling for it. Orrin Hatch will announce that he's never been so angry in his life, McCain and Graham will announce that they're shocked that the Democrats would lie to them this way.
So predictable.
They should just tell BO too bad, we won’t work with you on reform as long as the border problem is not addressed period. Hell, they already lost most of the hispanic racist vote and have nothing to lose by this confrontation. The pubs have come out and state they they will not just give BO and the rats those millions of indocumented democrats for nothing and call out those pro illegal activits group for the racists they are. They need to appeal to the over 60-percent of Americans that don’t want the illegals to be given a free pass.

Former CUNY professor admits to being a spy for Russia (wed to El Diario columnist)

A former CUNY professor-----born in Peru----- accused of spying for Russia used a fake name and was married to an El Diario columnist. Juan Lazaro told federal authorities after his arrest that "he would not violate his loyalty to the" Russian secret "service even for his son." The ex-prof lived in Yonkers under the fake name "Juan Lazaro."
Lazaro told told investigators that his wife, El Diario columnist Vicky Pelaez, who has US citizenship, had delivered letters to their spymasters on his behalf, and that their Yonkers home "had been paid for by the 'Service.'" Vicky Pelaez is being held without bond along with "Lazaro" -- who is refusing to provide his real name -- on charges that they acted as agents for Russia.
The filing indicated that federal authorities were monitoring their home conversations by "microphones" "for years." Judge Ronald Ellis said Pelaez who has US citizenship, could be released on house arrest with a monitoring device if someone paid the $250,000 bond ($10,000 cash needed).--SNIP--

This idea is half v-ast.
Actually, it was John Kennedy who started this “Nation of Immigrants” crap at the political level (he used the phrase in one of his speeches). It had existed amongst the liberal intelligentsia as far back as the 1930s, however, in protest against so-called oppressive WASPdom that was promoted in the past.
Here’s some of the disastrous measures ultra-liberal Teddy Kennedy used to trash our culture. Kennedy was in a class by himself when it came to destroying our borders and our quality of life. He died, after promoting Obama, knowing Obama would continue destroying our borders.
Kennedy pushed SEVEN amnesties into law. Eeven though it was said to be the goal, none of it was ever followed by a reduction in illegal immigration.
1. In 1986, Ted Kennedy’s blanket amnesty for 2.7 million illegal aliens promised a lot more enforcement but did not set any requirements for actual reductions in illegal immigration.
2. In 1994, Ted Kennedy’s Section 245(i) Amnesty gave legal residence and jobs to 578,000 illegal aliens. It was a temporary rolling amnesty primarily for extended family members of immigrants who instead of waiting in line, come on to the country illegally.
3. In 1997, Ted Kennedy’s extension of the Section 245(i) rolling amnesty was followed by an increasing flow of illegal immigration.
4. In 1997, Ted Kennedy also won an amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America. Illegal immigration sped up some more.
5. In 1998, Ted Kennedy won an amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti.
6. In 2000, Ted Kennedy got the so-called Late Amnesty, legalizing another 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed that they missed out on Kennedy’s 1986 amnesty.
7. In 2000, Ted Kennedy also won the LIFE Act Amnesty for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. It was another reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty...an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. Illegal immigration accelerated.
Your analysis is excellent -- we've been through this before, again and again. Besides, the Republicans have a large majority of Americans behind them on this issue ... (but the Republican Party has a hard-earned reputation as the "Stupid Party", so who's to say how this will turn out?)

2 Texans accused of planning to sell counterfeit IDs
NORTH BERGEN -- (AP) 07/21/06---The Pelcastre brothers were a walking threat to national security -- expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, authorities said. (ED. They sell drugs to get the money to buy fake documents.)
When police stumbled across the Pelcastre brothers, the men had turned a Tonnelle Avenue hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local identity broker, authorities said.
The brothers, Angel, 31, and Jorge, 34, both of Dallas, were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of government documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses for any state in the country including passports and resident alien cards, said state police Capt. Al Della Fave.
"Can you imagine if a terrorist were able to get their hands on this stuff?" Della Fave said. "They'd have free passage throughout the country." Note that Mexico is the global staging area for entry across US borders.
A task force including state troopers and officers from both the Bergen and Hudson county prosecutors' offices happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in the parking lot of the hotel. Authorities wouldn't identify the hotel by name for fear it could hinder cooperation from other hotels in future investigations or spark retribution.
The Corporate Outreach Task Force, formerly the Hotel Motel Drug Interdiction Task Force, regularly runs checks on motor vehicles in area motels. Members of the task force began watching the cars, a Chevrolet Impala and a Pontiac Firebird, and followed the brothers to an office supply store in a nearby shopping center, where the men purchased computer supplies, said state police Sgt. Stephen Jones.
Officers then followed the brothers to a self-storage facility in Secaucus, where they loaded several boxes from a storage unit into one of the cars, Jones said. One of the men stood lookout, which heightened police suspicion, he said. Authorities approached the men when they returned to the hotel and questioned them separately, Jones said. The brothers consented to a search of their cars, hotel room and the storage facility, he said.
Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs, Jones said.
All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street, Della Fave said. Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a fake document broker for a shipment of 500 Social Security cards, Della Fave said.
"They were aggressively selling to brokers," he said. "This isn't like selling driver's licenses to individuals. These were multiple layers of high-level documents."
The brothers were being held in jail without bail on charges of possessing fraudulent documents and conspiracy to sell fraudulent documents. Federal charges are also pending against them, said state police Detective Sgt. Cesar Huaman, a member of the task force.

As County Clerk Inclan was manufacturing identities for illegals---stealing the info from legit Americans.
In August 2004, the US Department of State stopped accepting passport applications processed by Inclan's office. Birth certificates issued by Hudson County as proof of citizenship were also not being accepted. Due to an ongoing investigation by the State Department and the U.S. Department of Justice into the alleged sale of such documents.
In early August, Richard Boucher, a spokesperson for the State Department was quoted by Associated Press: "The investigation has developed facts indicating that we cannot rely on the accuracy of information on passport applications that were processed by the county clerk's office."
HERE'S HOW HE OPERATED Javier Inclan was carrying envelopes of cash from human trafficer Luisa Medrano to the Mayor who was convicted of corruption. Medrano testified at his trial that at one time she owned 13 residential and commercial properties in Union City, West New York, Guttenberg, Fairfield and Cliffside Park----one property was worth $1 million. Medrano also controlled six liquor licenses (it's illegal to have more than two in New Jersey). Medrano does not even speak English. Clearly, this mamasita's got more than revenue from tequila shots going into her bank account.
