Is Obama really a socialist? Some say so, but where's the evidence?

The assertion is getting louder: President Obama is a socialist, a wealth-redistributing wolf in Democrat's clothing gnawing at America's entrepreneurial spirit.

It's easy to buy "Obama is a socialist" bumper stickers on the Internet. Political commentator Dick Morris said, in a column circulated on GOPUSA.com, that conservatives are "enraged at Barack Obama's socialism and radicalism." Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich titled his new book "To Save America: Stopping Obama's Secular-Socialist Machine."

They don’t recognize him as a socialist because they refuse to admit the reality that modern American liberalism is socialism. They prefer to see themselves as in line with earlier classical liberal ideals, rather than how they have kept the name, but thrown out all that classical liberalism stood for. Those classical liberals are the modern conservatives and libertarians.

Good list. I think for Freepers is simply a matter of deciding what brand of socialism. Many of us contend that he behaves like a Nazi, since he has used his bullying tactics to heavily control industry; e.g., forcing the banks to take stimulus funds and extorting funds from BP. The majority want to label him a Communist due to actions like taking over student loans and health industry.

Perhaps we should coin a new label which combines both? I propose Communazi!

I would try but the government will step in and demand that all the people get a slice and some folks are far more deserving than either my friend or myself so we'll be left starving as the resturant fills with uninvited unpaying diners who will eat my pizza.
